SPOKANE, Wash. An apparent meteor streaked through the sky over the Pacific Northwest early Tuesday, drawing reports of bright lights and sonic booms in parts of Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Although a witness reported seeing the object strike the Earth in a remote part of Adams County, in southeast Washington, it had not been found.
"I'm convinced it was a meteor," said Geoff Chester, spokesman for the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. "It was a classic description of a fireball."
Chester speculated the meteor was the size of a big suitcase and had been orbiting the sun for millions of years before entering Earth's orbit.
The Federal Aviation Administration said a private pilot reported seeing the meteor hit the Earth in a burst of light near State Route 26 and the Lind-Hatton Road about 5:45 a.m.
The Adams County sheriff's office had no immediate reports of damage, injury or a meteor landing in the area, about 175 miles east-southeast of Seattle and 90 miles southwest of Spokane.

I didn’t do it.
Grover’s Mill?
Uh oh...
:-)
I’m spending tonight outside with my catcher’s mitt...
I live in Pasco WA and my bedroom lit up so bright at about 5:30 a.m. At first I thought it might be lightning but then saw nothing more. Then when I got on the computer this morning my daughter had sent me a notice from her work letting me know about the meteor. They had lots of pictures on the news tonight from various video cams around the Tri-Cities here.

I saw it! I saw it!!
Absolutely amazing...it was at about 0630 eastern Idaho time and was just about due west of my position. It dissapeared behind the mountains and there were two large flashes at what appeared to be impact. I called a friend who works in the area to warn him of possible aliens that don’t speak English or Spanish.
Hi Raider,
I saw it...looked to me like it landed on Boise. If there are aliens, ask if they know how to play football...BSU can use all the help it can get.
I was in Salmon, Idaho and saw it at 0630...it was impressive and when it dropped behind the mountains there were two large, bright flashes at impact. COOL!!
ping and bump
Saw it thanks. I was wondering why Cuttnhorse got up so late in post #28.
This is so cool.
LOL..... Lucky you, wow!!!
Happy Space Day to you, too!
Space Day is the first Friday in May.
Given the locations and directions of the video cams, it shouldn't be hard to triangulate the location of the hit.
Well, maybe the calendar says so, but today is Atlantis landing, satellite shootdown, lunar eclipse and last night’s meteor.
Much spacier than the official day :)
Plus we shot witch Hillary off her broom last night.
Happy Space Day, lol.
I was busy yesterday and dint get around to checking the source of all worthwhile information...Free Republic.

Are you sure what you saw was the same thing? You say you saw it one hour later 0630 and according to the pilot he saw it hit land before it would have gotten that far. I saw the flash at around 5:30 a.m. and Adams County is just up the road from me.
