Going Nightclubbing, Visiting An Amusement Park, And A Fire In Virtual World "Second Life"!
Second Life ^ | 2/17/08 | lowbridge

Going dancing and nightclubbing With an online virtual girlfriend:

Next, Visiting the Republican Headquarters for a second time, just to get a picture of myself sitting at the main desk

Then visiting an amusement park.

I played the Whack A Mole game, but didnt win

The photo booth where I had my photos taken

And what with my love for Fire Engines, I decided to visit a Fire Department. This one is in the City of Bodhisnea. I noticed that the Pumper was gone. So I was kind of disappointed.

After looking around the fire house, I walked down the street only to see the pumper with it's lights flashing. I went in for a closer look and saw them battling a fire!:

Two firefighters on the left decided to tether themselves to each other for better safety before going back inside to battle the fire.

A weary firefighter replenishes himself by taking a drink from bottled water before rejoining the firefight.

Evidently, the fire was too much out of hand so they brought in a second Engine:

And they finally brought the fire under control:

The fire heroes from left to right:

Second Life Fire Department (SLFD) Captain PrivateInvestigator Allen, SLFD Firefighter Dave2all Siverspav, SLFD Lieutenant Rog Messner, and SLFD Probie Lvl2 alt100 stoop

And that was my adventure from last night. :-)

Visit To RNC Headquarters In Virtual World, Second Life

I know what you're thinking: "Geez lowbridge, you really need to get a life. I mean, a real, REAL life." ;-D

This is fun!

For those who wish to join in on the fun (it's completely free to join):, Second Life, but you will need broadband/cable and a good speedy computer. This will not work with dial up.

In Sl, could I be a gun runner, moonshiner, and cigarette smuggler? I want to a crime lord dealing all manner of things that PC has declared taboo. I could also smuggle cupcakes, dougnuts, copies of P.J O’Rourke’s books, etc...

Drinking, guns and cigarettes are ok. But gambling has been banned in SL, so you could provide a few floating crap games, poker games, and operate secretly hidden casinos. :-)

But gambling has been banned in SL,

So I guess taking your virtual girlfriend back to your virtual apartment for some virtual carnal knowledge is virtually impossible.

ACTUALLY that is possible...well, ok, maybe not in my case! :-)

BUT, I was looking around for a way to make money, so in responding to an advertisement, I was transported to a private island with an elaborate house, but no one was home. So I flew over to a neighboring island that had a castle on it, thinking that maybe the residents could give me some info. There were indeed two people inside the castle, the door was locked, no way to get inside. But I could hear through the wall the two of them going at it and talking dirty to each other.

Eve Online provides a better economic model and History model anyway. It gave us the failure cascade term as well. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_124/2645-Riding-the-Failure-Cascade

No thanks... after reading Snow Crash, games like that suddenly don't seem quite as exciting. Although I've always thought of how fun it would be to participate in the development of games like that....
