The Dragonflies'Lair ~ Thread XLIX~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Sorry to interrupt this global love fest, but I just finished this, and I wanted to get it posted right away.

Carbon Footprints

We’ve left a lot of footprints,
In walking all about.
That muddy ditch just didn’t seem,
To want to let us out.

Then getting past the darkling seas,
Was also quite a trek,
Though sandy beaches still evoke,
The feeling, “What the Heck!”

It was in heading northward,
Our fate became enmeshed,
With bonfires for our vanities,
And for the way we’re fleshed.

Without a warming pelt, you see,
We had to borrow some.
We got it as a dinner gift,
Don’t ask us where it’s from.

The borrowed sunlight we uncorked,
Made many a cheerful eve,
And sunwarmth glowing through the night,
Sustained us, I believe.

I fear we made a mess of things,
The cave floor was a fright.
The darkness we left scattered there,
Was but the ash of night.

And though we left some footprints,
We’re not the only ones,
We followed a fiery pillar,
And smoke across desert suns.

Fire even came with instructions,
From a bush on a mountain top,
So, though we leave carbon footprints,
By God! We aren’t going to stop!

Muslims run Britain, so why not control their money too.

Too bad, it used to be a proud country, now its just muslim lite.

Hi Meg,

We had gorgeous sun all day today, temps did not go up very much but it was great to see the sun.

Meg’s rain will make the flowers grow
to ease the pain of rain
the little Pansies thrive in it
and the Periwinkle glow.

It is quiet in the Lair tonight
where are the poets of this site

writing pomes to their heart’s delight
by long, low, yellow candle light.

Is it cold in here?

Until the Dawn

She slips as silent as the night wind into my room
Her gossamer gown sliding from her skin so soft
Moonlit alabaster skin under star that arching loft
And I surrender to her needs, for she is my doom

Warm silk her skin under my hands seeking slow
And she moans in her need, her lips set me afire
Embracing in our soft hot hunger we spiral higher
And pace ourselves till dawn comes and night goes

Sweet the time spent till we are at last truly spent
When fire succumbs to passion’s fall into sleep
And peace takes up before the dawn pleasures reap
A last moment’s kiss and then in silence she went
