Weeelllllll, in the French speaking parts the wood piles aren't stacked quite as neatly...
Why would anyone throw waste out of their car?
When it's not your country, and you're already breaking multiple laws just being there, why respect anything about a country?
Night, Cardhu.
I’ll go take the Geographical Quiz, now. (But, my score will probably be so low, I doubt I will post it.) ;-)
No kidding, Nully. Could you tell us?
256 seems to ring a bell with us nerdy types. :)
If you want to travel first class the Paradores of Spain are just the ticket.
“The Spanish Paradores are hotels for luxury accommodation in Castles, Palaces, Fortresses, Convents, Monasteries and other historic buildings. There are also modern hotels, built in traditional style, in areas of outstanding beauty.”
The government decided to turn all these wonderful building into hotels so that they would not fall into disrepair as no one could afford their upkeep. They are wonderful places quite unlike any hotel you have ever visted. Over 60s get a 30% discount and only one has to be over 60 if they share a room.
Didn’t get much of a chance to do any touristy things, spent most of the week working.
The day we did get to do some driving around I was very impressed by the pervasiveness of military preparations. Every little valley had Dragon’s Teeth across the narrowest parts. You’d go around a corner on a picturesque mountain road and be looking straight at a quaint chalet, only a second look would reveal that the chalet is made of reinforced concrete, and has machine gun slits. A straight stretch of highway would have a removable median barrier, and would pass right by a hill with aircraft hangers built into it. The road in a narrow pass would have a row of little squares across it, the tops of posts that could be raised out of the pavement at the touch of a button.
Small wonder even Hitler didn’t invade!
Ohhh I know the song, I have it in my music library: English version “Time To Say Goodbye” Italian version “Con Te Partiro” Spanish version “Por Ti Volaré”
Beautiful!
Thank you for sharing. ;0)
If one travels alone, would she be safe?
I have summoned thee to this event for my purposes.. or was that porpoises?
At any rate..
*chuckle*
..it is my fault.
LOL! Sure!
Honey.....as I said, it always is. Without fail.
Now the Mag 6 earthquake in Nevada wasn’t my fault.
But the incidents of ‘Bunny on the Head” are my fault.
I thought so!
And a magnitude 6 earthquake is not your style and not as big a deal as it sounds.
My first effort was huge but I have mangaged to cut it down to 8megs without losing anything.
This was the Grand Finale of that night in Pisa. The Piazzo dei Cavalieri was the outdoor setting for this event.
Elder Hostels are a wonderful way to travel especially if one is alone. She will have lots of fun and it will not break the bank.
I first heard about them many years ago when an 85 yo single friend of ours in the USA, said she was going on holiday with the Elder Hostel. I believe they slept in the dormitories in the University of Wisconsin and each day had a couple of hours of a course of their choice - she chose ART, as she was a volunteer guide, one day each week, at the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art.
During the rest of the time they could travel as a group to various events or simply do their own thing. They use the University´s facilities during the vacations, both the University and the old folk benefit.
They cater for just about every type of holiday imaginable, a great choice for your friend.
‘morning...
‘morning nully
Kinda quiet this morning...
*Kinda quiet this morning...*
That’s because I’ve been cleaning glass. I haaaaaaaaate glass. :(
