Having its finger on the pulse of Americans unlike any other organization or person in the United States, the American Mustache Insitute has petitioned the National Football League to move the Super Bowl from its traditional perch on Sundays to a more sensible Saturday date. Following is AMI's socio-economic rationale for doing so, and we hope you support our position by writing and calling your favorite local and national sports reporters, your congressmen, the National Rifle Association, the Future Farmers of America, The Pork Council, The Flying Elvis' Utah Chapter #23, Planned Parenthood, and the NFL offices at (212) 450-2000.

1. A Saturday night Super Bowl would cut down on the Super Bowl hype by one day, not significant given the two-week buildup to the game anyway.
2. By placing the game on Saturday night, it allows the NFL to start the game somewhere between 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm for maximum viewership and ad revenue.
3. Saturday night game time means there are less worries about younger people having to stay up for the game, since Saturday is part of the weekend for most people.
4. Corporate parties could be HUGE on a Super Bowl played on Saturday nights.
5. Sports bars and traditional bars will do record business on Saturday night Super Bowls.
6. It would allow workers a day to "dry out" so workers will return in reasonable condition Monday mornings.
Do these guys offer “Free Mustache Rides?”
I’d prefer a starting time of 4:15, but I believe it’s scheduled for 6:00, which is acceptable. 8:00 is late.
Yes, I got that. But thanks.
Saturday makes too much sense, they’ll never change it.
Only for the ladies...
I can’t say it will never happen...if they did move it to Saturday I still think it would start at 6:15 p.m. though. Throughout the game they would promote some other show coming on at 10:00.

Instead of four 15 minute quarters, they should have 8 thirty minute octets. That would be one hour of football per night for four nights. Due to the time-outs and commercial breaks and "half-times" (between each two octets) we would have at least three hours of programming each night.
Accordingly, we could make Friday and Monday federal holidays and we will have the Super Bowl Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday Night and Monday night.
This makes sense for a number of reasons:
1. The 70,000 seat football stadium will be filled four nights in a row, greatly increasing gate revenue for the host city.
2. The drama of the Super Bowl will be spread over four exciting nights.
3. We will have the potential for very high scoring games. We could see scores like 117-91 on a regular basis.
4. Lots more commercials will be seen.
5. Lots more beer and food will be consumed.
It will be like four days of constant partying.
