Her Janis Joplin sound has grown old.

I guess I'm just an ol' stuck on the Blues kinda guy.

Still think she rocks tho.

LOL--Found the McDeathGlare

I love it. If there were an award for Best Death Glare, McPhee would win hands down. Little Miss David Hernandez might be runner up after losing his struggle to leave graciously.

I bet Monchichi will do Hey Jude, and play piano while he sings it. The crowd will love it ... Paula will be in tears.

Sigh. You're probably right. He may yet prove me wrong, but so far I've come to the conclusion that Monchichi is little more than a cruise ship type crooner. He absolutely did not know what to do with 'We Can Work It Out,' and it doesn't appear he even tried very hard with the song.

LOL!! And the scary thing is, that's probably not far from the truth.

It isn't far from the truth at all. McGreevy's wife (the female one), is all over the TV commiserating with Spitzer's wife (while hawking her book, of course).

Amanda ain't no Billie Holiday. She ain't even Janis Joplin. Joplin was original. Amanda is a cheap imitation of Joplin.

If she could sing an emotional ballad and not sound like a throat cancer patient on steriods, then maybe she could stand a slim chance. But I don't think she has it in her.

All she knows how to do is prance around the stage like an angry bull, bend forward like she's about to puke up a sour six pack and then scream like a gorilla in labor. She has no real musical talent.

I think she rocks, too. There aren’t enough true women rockers in music.

“mobile meth lab”—OMG...I think I just saw one of those drive down the road in front of my house!

It blew up at the bottom of the hill.

(No kidding...up here in Northern PA. they rent out motel rooms and cook the stuff in the microwave. Farmers are always missing their piles of ammonia nitrate in the spring.)

Hey, misterrob...just wanted to tell you I went to really great weddong reception last October, and the wedding favor for each guest was an Elliott Yamin album of love songs.

HAHAHAHAhaha.

To everyone,

I apologize for writing so many posts in a row, but I can’t watch and post at the same time. Bad logistics.

However, I enjoy that Day After thread so much, I just have to make comments.

He is MAD!!!!

I don't believe for a minute that David Hernandez received the lowest votes.

TPTB used this opportunity to nix the nasty rumors since he was in the bottom 3 and let him go, keeping this a family show.

That's why he was mad, IMO.

Did he deserve to go? Of course he did ~ his past caught up with him. What did he expect?

I will miss his great voice.

Don’t hold back now. Let us know how you really feel.

Ok.

There are some very talented musicians in this bunch. Music is a lot more than just singing in key (which Amanda doesn't do). It is about feeling the music and allowing yourself to be used as an instrument of art. The "rocker" in this competition is not Amanda, it is David Cook. He understands music probably better than any of the other contestants. When he sings a song, he is creating a work of art; creating a mood; not only hitting the note correctly but putting the correct emphasis on the phrasing. His Lionel Ritchie piece last week was amazing and his rendition of Eleanor Rigby was superb. But alas, he's not going to win this competition because he is not going to get the teeny bopper vote when it comes down to the final 4.

At first I didn't like Jason Castro. His dreads irritated me to no end. But he really does have a grasp of Music. He is not an exceptional singer, but he sings exceptionally. His creativity is on a par with David Cook, but I think his range is limited. He is not going to blow anyone away with his vocals, however his arrangements are unique and his delivery is unique (at least among this crowd). As long as he gets to make his own arrangements, he has a shot at making the final 4. I'm not sure he can win it. It will depend on who the other 3 finalists are.

Kristy Lee Cook is a good singer, but she demonstrated the other night that she doesn't understand music. She wanted to color a Beatles song with a "country" flavor, and ended up with a "hillbilly" flavor instead. She needs some serious guidance from a serious musician if she intends to stay in this competition. I don't think she can make the final 4.

Michael Johns was absolutely brilliant this week. He is a musician and it really showed. Simon is a music critic, but obviously is not a musician. Paula is a musician and she recognized the mastery in which Johns handled that song. I think he has a good shot at the final 4. I don't think he can win it all. I think he is too old.

The two women at the end of this competition will be Brooke White and Carly Smithson. Carly clearly has the best voice, but I don't think she is nearly as musically talented as Brooke White. But then the voters that call in are probably not going to recognize the wealth of talent that Brooke has. I do think Carly is more versatile and can sing just about any song and make it sound good. I think Brooke is more limited in what she can sing, but so far she has always made the right song choice. That is the sign of a great musician. It is knowing which songs you can sing and which songs you should avoid. If Carly can learn that trick then she will be there in the end.

Chikese suprised the heck out of me this week. But I don't think he has staying power. He needs to pick exactly the right song each week and so far he has only done that one time.

Ramiele and Sayesha are mediocre performers. Ramiele has a terrific voice, but she doesn't know how to use it. Sayesha has a good voice too, but she has no personality in her pereformances. She sounds like every other Gospel singer that has appeared on AI. But that is one dimensional. Can she sing a song like "Yesterday" and make it sound different and unique without sounding ghetto? I don't think so.

Finally we have David Archuletta. He is a terrific singer. Probably the best singer who has ever appeared on AI. But I don't think he is a musician. I think it might come with age, but he's only got about 8 weeks to grow up musically. His song choices show his immaturity, and the fact that he actually forgot the words to a Beatles song portends disaster for this kid. I'd be surprised if he makes the final 4.

You know what I think of Amanda (the bride of Frankenstein). I'm hoping she's gone next week.

Final four picks:
David Cook
Michael Johns
Jason Castro; and
Either Brooke or Carly. Not both.
