January 11, 2008)--Authorities in North Carolina said late Friday morning pregnant Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach is dead.
They said she’s buried in a shallow grave, for which investigators are now searching.
They identified the suspect in the case as a Marine officer whom she accused of sexually assaulting her.
Police earlier were planning to interview a man who lived with her and said he would answer questions that "will shed a lot of light on the case."
Authorities said again Friday Marine Sgt. Daniel Durham isn't a suspect, but police believe he's the last person to speak with the Marine.
She disappeared Dec. 14 ahead of her expected testimony in a military investigation into her claim a senior officer had sexually assaulted her.
Court documents show the investigation went sour amid inconsistencies in the woman's story and allegations that she's bipolar and a compulsive liar.
Search warrants show she was facing a possible discharge from the service.
Lauterbach was eight months pregnant when she disappeared.

He was within arms reach for too long for this not to be any accident.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the church at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery.

Good job to all that showed up to support our military. I read the 5 protestors were all women (two older and three who appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties) ?! I guess their “men” couldn’t handle the cold and rain and had to send their women out instead.
Finally, they got his picture and particulars in a Mexican paper. Hope he’s feeling the heat if he’s down there. I’m surprised, the $25,000 wasn’t mentioned at the very beginning. I think it would go a long way to finding Cesear if he’s actually in Mexico.

NCJim or debm29palms, is 416, 414, or 484 a prefix in North Carolina? Also does anyone remember what the prefixes where on the search warrants issued for Cesar’s, Christina’s, and Elvira’s (Cesar’s mom) phone numbers?
Like Brian said up yonder, a photographer would be able to...I have paint shop pro and 2 other programs. I think that Adobe photoshop is probably better. The more that I look at the #’s, they could be just about anything.
Forgot that 416 is Wisconsin, and I think that 414 is Toronto. But, it could be any fake # that the writer used, too.
