NEW ORLEANS -- With the 2007 football season complete, here's the game plan for 2008:
Jim Tressel's Ohio State team has lost back-to-back games for the BCS national championship.
We need border patrols along Interstate 10, from Jacksonville to Pensacola. A Coast Guard blockade at Biscayne Bay. And the FAA should redirect all inbound flights to South Florida from Ohio.
If you see a silver helmet and a sweater vest coming, contact authorities.
Because next year's BCS National Championship Game will be played in Miami, and the Ohio State Buckeyes aren't invited. Especially if the Southeastern Conference champion is invited.
If you've ever seen lions maul a water buffalo, you've seen the last two title games. You've seen a fierce pair of SEC teams -- Florida last year, LSU this year -- blow the vulnerable Buckeyes back to the Bratwurst Belt by a combined 41 points. You've seen the best of one league flex, and the best of an inferior league collapse

Geaux tigers!
Well, they have collected quite a few Runner Up trophies in the last year (football twice, basketball, and soccer). I'm thinking of filing a claim on the trophy case and mining it for silver.
OSU --> RUSU --> RunnerUp State University
Oklahoma and Ohio State in the BCS Championship. Someone has GOT to win. To us this is the Big Choke Series.
Yes, I’m sure it matters, to a certain extent. But to lose at home to a 41 point underdog?
“They are dead wrong. No matter what the record is for the Buckeyes next year, the BCS selection committee would have to have their collective heads examined to consider them for a title game slot. They’re going to avoid them like the plague.”
First of all, I’m not an OSU fan. Sorry, but if the Bucks run the table next season, they’re going to the BCS national championship. They play USC in September.
The problem is they don’t play the games for two months after the season ends.
What else could the BCS do? Teams in front of OSU kept on losing.
I dunno. Would UCLA have won all those championships if first Lew Alcindor and then Bill Walton went down? I mean Swen Nater had a long NBA career, right?
Hi,
I’m a La. native and big LSU fan and I just want to say that our news reports that Ohioans who attended the game really enjoyed their stay in New Orleans and that the rivalry did not spill onto the streets of New Orleans. Come visit us sometime if you haven’t already. We’re some of the nicest people you’ll meet and you’ll feel right at home.
Cheers!
Even my Connecticut or even West Virgina could do a good job beating OSU.
Also this bowl championship stuff makes the BCS look like a joke.
Say, is OSU the “farm” team for the semi pro team in Cincinnati? ;)
Well, now we are comparing apples to oranges.
I wish, it would improve the Bengals....(chuckle)
Do not forget the Big East, is also moving on up, having gotten the respect it so richly deserves this year. But yes, the SEC is in charge of college football.
“When SC is healthy, they beat everyone.”
But when they’re banged up they can’t even handle a 40 point underdog like Standford AT HOME!
Because LSU plays in the SEC.
OSU starts play USC next year. That might show a bit about their relative skill.
