Well, in a few hours, a few LSU folks will recall with dread the name Greg Frey. Yep, the Buckeye quarterback no one remembers but die-hard Buckeye and LSU fans. The quarterback who led the team to one of the most spectacular comebacks ever witnessed at Ohio Stadium.
As Wikipedia puts it: On September 24, 1988, he rallied Ohio State from a 33-20 deficit in the final four minutes for a 36-33 victory over the ninth-ranked LSU Tigers.
I was at that game in the shoe, urging all the fans who were leaving early to stay put. It was gratifying to see them pour back in as the miracle comeback unfolded. When Bobby Olive made that flying catch in the end zone for the win, I distinctly remember sharing overwhelmingly jubilant joy with thousands of other Buckeyes around me.
The LSU fans who shuffled back to their cars were morose indeed .... it's a long long drive to Louisiana from Ohio. These same fans are now hoping for a dose of that gloom to be heaped upon the carloads of Bucknuts on their way back home from the Dome tonight.
I have some advice for Tiger fans: don't buy the extra beer for the party after the game. The spirit of Greg Frey is with us still.
OSU over Tigers, 24-21.
LSU do not know what hit them.
LSU do not know what hit them.
Just playing with you. heehee
Normally there is a delay on the satellite providers of about 2-3 seconds because it takes that long to get your local station’s signal via fiber optic line usually to the dish co.’s operations center and in turn to your dish and your TV set.
A delay of a few minutes is unheard of though.
Now I’m wondering if I’ve got a long delay on XM. I thought the score was 10-0, but two people have now reported the score as 10-7.
Could the SEC be living up to my sarc about being large and slow?
*crawls away quietly*
Nah, typo on my part. Sorry.
Hester on a nice, tough run. 3rd and 3. Then Hester again, with speed to the 40. Huge gaping hole in the plowboys defense. Gain of 20
Verizon FIOS is one city over from me and ATT is only available in San Diego. Whichever one becomes available for me first, I think I will try it. Right now I have Time Warner which has an okay signal, but I like my high speed internet connection the best with them (up to 6 meg speed).
Maybe you’re prescient. LSU is moving the ball now.
Yes they are.
3rd and 1 from the 14. Hester to the OSU 12. 1st down.
Good old 3 Yards and a cloud of carpet SEC.
LSU playing for 3
Good defense, lost yds. Play action. Plenty of action, no play. 3rd and 13. Watch out for turnovers.
Good one, Positron.
LSU hasn't earned that 7 yet
The Big Ten like the Big East is very big on speed, speed, and more speed.
Holey moley, how many commercials are we going to have?
