I fear the worst for that young woman (too bad the dog can’t talk) but never abandon hope! Here’s praying that she is found alive.

Was Ells, the Lab with this guy?

Doesn’t sound good for this girl ... I don’t care ho “fit” she was said to be ... girls just don’t have the strength of men - even if they old and BIGGER than they are.

This one is most probably a heartbreaker.

I’ve been following this story. Dang!

I’m praying she is found safe.

I am a dog lover, and I am happy that the dog was found. Tragic story for the girl, I fear.

My husband was coming home from my son’s basketball game & said he saw a Channel 2 film crew. It looked as if the camera was pointed towards the Kroger at Exit 17 on 400.

Makes sense because 400 is the most logical route from the N GA Mountains to the area around Ashford-Dunwoody. We don’t get too many WSB crews up here in North Forsyth unless something really big happens.

My best guess is he let the dog out or he stopped and the dog jumped out.

Either way, it does not look good for the poor young woman. (I hope to God I am wrong)

I don't know whether this unfortunate woman owned a gun or had a carry permit, but if so she was prohibited by law from being armed in state parks, like the one where she went missing.

I still have hope for a happy ending, but I can only wonder if this story might have been much different if this woman had been allowed by law to defend herself and had availed herself of that right. It's infuriating to know that if she was a victim of something terrible, her attacker knew that he would be attacking an unarmed victim.

Georgians, please check out GeorgiaCarry.org to see what is being done in your state to stand up for the right of people like this woman not to be defenseless victims.

I live and hike in the area where the young woman got lost. There are drop offs where someone could get seriously injured. The chances of her being alive are diminishing with each freezing night, especially with her dog not being with her to keep her warm.

When I get back home, if she hasn’t been located, I’ll try to get to the area with my dogs and see if they can catch a scent. (I have other obligations most of this month.)

This is such a sad sad occurance, but it does underscore the need for hikers to have a hiking partner . . . even though I hike solo 99.9% of the time . . . and to be very wary of strangers. (Knowing Karate or HapKiDo doesn’t mean much if you get hit on the head from behind or if you fall off a cliff.)

My heart goes out to her family and friends.

“Emerson’s parents are “devastated and frightened,” Bailey said.”

Those poor people,I can only imagine there feelings. Miracles do happen, and I am hoping and praying this will be one of them.

The animal was positively identified through an embedded microchip.

From the kennel to the nursery. Imagine a world with no missing children or hikers./s
