Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Rosie, I love the table!!
I wish I had a nice table. Mine is warped and none of the leaves match up. And the chairs don’t have any finish on them. But it was free. Someone didn’t want to keep it when it didn’t sell at their garage sale.
Looks great! Hair said it best - Cheerful! Congrats on the acquisition.
Pups say, "Ha ha, that's what you think!" ;)
Bob. Ross. ;)
yer just gettin' all twittery thinkin' about seein' me in muh skin, ain't yuh?
I’m so close to finishing the story I can taste it. And I finally named it!
I think this one had leaves, but I forgot to ask about ‘em, and now I’m not sure I could get in contact with the seller. Maybe she’ll call me next time she remembers they exist. :-\ Not that I need ‘em at the moment. It’s almost too big as is, though it’s a nice workspace.
Dinner!
That’s what ecurbh said...
then...what’s the problem?
;-)
Ookay. Did one of the dogs rearrange the invisible “stray dogs welcome here” sign?
I’m thinkin’ eggses...mmm...eggses.
That’s what ecurbh said...
I’m thinkin’ Gidget will eat it.
It’s in the back of the truck now. I gave it a little bit of horse grain, which it ate... some sunflower seeds, which it’s not sure about, and a piece of bread, which it likes.
You didn’t see it out there? It was poking around in the neighbor’s garden.
Cisco would probably herd it into a corner and then retrieve it...
Wonder where on earth it came from? Basset lady isn’t taking in chickens now, is she? :-\
I’d come over and see, but I’m headed out the door. Interested in hearing what happens, though!
Heh...Cisco was going nuts, but I looked out in search of a person and didn’t see anyone. Couldn’t figure out what he was on about, and I didn’t go out all the way since I was still in my jammies. ;-) I guess I didn’t look *low* enough...
That is a beautiful Rhode Island Red pullet! If it’s old enough, it might even be laying already! They lay brown eggs!
It seems mighty tame!
Be careful about getting it near your face. They think your blinking eyelashes are some sort of bug and will peck you in the eye before you can blink. Instinct, you know.
I love it!! LOVE IT!
Uh-oh.
The desire for chickens in the yard is very very strong now...
We drove around a ~little~ in search of where she might have come from that was within chicken walking distance, but gave up and took her to Rutledge Farm (the corn maze people) and asked if they took refugee chickens.... They have all kinds of free farm birds that roam the place, but no Rhode Island Reds... so now they have one. She looked like she'd fit in pretty well around there.
A very nice chicken place where she gets to roam and be an amusement for tourists at the corn maze. Much better than being eaten by Gidget. It would have been a real headache to try to build her a safe area to be, and quite a bit of angst and punishment might have had to have been inflicted on Gidget to get it through her head that it the chicken is ~not~ good sport.
