Uh-oh.

The desire for chickens in the yard is very very strong now...

Well, I would have shipped you this one... she was a nice chicken... very easy to catch. But I have no idea where she came from.

We drove around a ~little~ in search of where she might have come from that was within chicken walking distance, but gave up and took her to Rutledge Farm (the corn maze people) and asked if they took refugee chickens.... They have all kinds of free farm birds that roam the place, but no Rhode Island Reds... so now they have one. She looked like she'd fit in pretty well around there.

A very nice chicken place where she gets to roam and be an amusement for tourists at the corn maze. Much better than being eaten by Gidget. It would have been a real headache to try to build her a safe area to be, and quite a bit of angst and punishment might have had to have been inflicted on Gidget to get it through her head that it the chicken is ~not~ good sport.

I saw them walking the street when I was in Key West in 2000. They were flapping their wings and making the most God-awful noises.
