The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Usually he eats it, too...but I’ve tried that.

Part of my wants to set him on the counter and yell and whack at him in hopes that he ends up nervous about even being *near* the counter...but I think that’d only make both of us feel guilty without actually accomplishing anything.

Ungh...Monday...ungh. And my ping page looks all weird.

LOL!!!

We got our meat rabbits over the weekend. We are allowing one of the does to be a pet and Joshua named it “Rose” after the lady in Dr. Who.

They love Dr. Who.

Mine does too. I hate it.

I had a pretty hard weekend. My BP skyrocketed again for no known reason. Started Saturday before lunch and still isn’t great. Peaked at somewhere around 200/110 last night. (My cuff busted.) I took my meds and just went to bed and it went down somewhat. 160/90 this morning.

Fixin’ to call The Doctor...but don’t know what that will accomplish.

It’s been great for weeks. Nothing much greater than the 140s/90s...most of the time in the 130s/80s. Then this happened.

I go in for my angiogram of my eye today.

This thread has the explanation, read down near the bottom of the first page there’s a link to fix the ping list back to the way it used to work.

but the formatting is still weird.

Thanks - that at least solves part of the problem!

Now if the dividers between comments just show up...

Somehow I think I am destined to been a “yarn” widower.

*snort* Hey, it's something for Lil Freeper to do when you're watching sports! ;o)

I don’t like that I can’t see to whom I was responding, when I posted. I can only see that I am the poster, rather than someone else posting to me.

But I mean, really...most runner chicks seem to top out at about 130, and that’s only if they’re 5’9” or so. I feel absolutely elephantine goin’ out there in public in shorts. Scaaary.

I'm built like a potato. I've got pretty good endurance, but I move slow. I'd rather walk five miles uphill with a backpack than run one. Alas.

Is sock yarn the really fine stuff that comes in big spools, almost like thread spools?

It's a little thicker than that, but a little thinner than sport weight. It's commonly called fingerling or sock weight. It comes in all sorts of purty colors. I hope someday to make a pair of socks, but I'm going to have to use crummy yarn. I just can't justify wasting glorious, pretty yarn on... feet.
