The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Got Vibe(s)?

Not quite.

After allll that, the Corollas across the street called to me, and I answered. I'm back in Corollaville. ;-)

They cost less anyway...and get better gas mileage, for what that's worth. And it's like my old Corolla only enhanced. Lots more doodads, but the same basic everything-is-exactly-where-it-should-be feel to it.

I'll just have to use a bike rack or do a little finagling if I wanna stick a bike in there. The seats do fold down, so I could probably do it if I had to by taking the front wheel of the bike off, just until I have a better method.

Looks like this, but without the spoiler and the big house.

It's purty and bright blue and has about twenty miles on it now that I've driven it allll the way home. Which was interesting, by the way...my first real drive in the thing and it's night and the other cars are so big of a sudden...and it's going to take me awhile to get used to steering and braking such a light little car again.

Poor Cisco was a very patient pup tonight. :-\ If I'd known how long the whole process would be, I'd have offered to come back tomorrow. But then I probably wouldn't have, so maybe it's just as well.

Mrs. was channel surfing and stopped on Titanic. I recognized the violins. I told her to call me when they got to my favorite scene...

So you got it? Congratulations! It’s dark now, but we’ll come over and see it in the morning!

Just so I stop whinin’? ;-)

I’m going to try not to feel guilty now...

Especially since I have a bother to face on Sunday.

Honestly, though, a Corolla should go a long, long, long time if I take good care of it. It’s not an extravagant vehicle, as such things go. It’s going to be fun doing the new thing at least this one time.

RE: Battlestar Galactica

The whole Cylon baby cells cures cancer thing was a bit much, and

I’m really, really, really tired of the word “frac.”

You’ll have to! It’s really a nice little car, I think!

Has some fancy schmancy stuff like a CD changer and a jack to plug in an MP3 player. And lots of little storage hidey-holes.

And it’s really a pretty color.

But it’s so versatile!

Yeah, they do work it in a bit much, don’t they?

I know I’d been watching too much BSG when I caught myself saying it when I dropped something.

To say much more about the other thing would involve spoilers. Of the not-car kind.

Well, maybe you should take us out to breakfast in it.

How’s that for a deal :~)

Well...maybe! So you guys can make fun of me for driving like a moron ‘cause I’m not used to it? ;-)

Heh...ironically...the new Corolla is one of the few models I *haven’t* sat up all night researching. After all that...

I’m obsessive, but not logically so.

It’s very bright blue! More so in person. I think it’s not a bad thing for smaller cars to be a nice visible color.

I think it’ll also have better resale than the other cars I’ve looked at, though hopefully I won’t ever need to think about that.

I wish I had better outdoor lighting here so I could see more than a bit of shininess in the dark. :-\

Heh...I can spend some of the money that I refused to spend on fancy weathercoating stuff to buy a carport. ;-)

I think it’ll live, though.

But I don’t think I can go off-roading when folks park across my driveway anymore.

OK, so you DID go ahead and get the Corolla, or just test drive one this evening? I’m confoosed.
