The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Wonder if they make coffee cups that look like lava lamps...

You got a point!

I think I get paid today...

I have a magic number in mind. If it’s a certain amount, then I should be able to pay off two bills completely.

If it’s less than that amount, then I’ll still be able to pay off one and a big chunk of another.

Yes I did - and thank you very much. Thelaptop has one of those pressure sensitive places instead of a mouse to move the little cursor (no pun intended) around and then there is a couple of places to click the clicker thing. So yes, the old luddite has another box to check off when we update our ‘skill toolbox’. Was actually able to get to the hobbit hole via portable computer without cable thing being in the wall.

Well, I’m just about ready to set off on my excellent adventure with our old next-door neighbor. I’m glad we scheduled it for today,’cause my back is still kinda screwed up; nothing that a couple of darvocet won’t fix.

I've got one of those nautical style wide-base steel mugs at the office:

It's sorta like the one on the bottom. It keeps coffee hot for quite a while due to the small opening at the top. Not much surface area exposed to the air. The one I have is even a bit smaller at the top than the one in the picture.

...and it won't tip as your boat heels over either. So there's that.

Mornin' folkses...

Those actually use capacitance of your finger moving though a field instead of pressure. So you can use it as light as you can. Just my 2 cents but it is handy to know once your finger tip gets worn off :P

Good morning.

I’m spending the morning telling people to stop calling my state names.

I’ve always wondered if those wide based ones would be tricky to clean, though. One of my pet peeves. Another reason I like my cup is that it has no moving parts to get gunked up - just a lid that screws on, with a hole to slip through. No sliding bit, no flip top, no nothing. Yeah, it pours out if you tip it upside down, but I don’t think most of the ones that seal are completely leak-proof either.

The wide ones also don’t fit in a cup holder.

Well, that’s your fault for living in a state that... uh... has pimples all over it’s face. Yeah. It’s a silly state and it’s father was a hamster.
