The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

She can’t hide that ‘fingernails on a blackboard’ flat twang, though. I think whoever the Republican nominee turns out to be would benefit just by not having that screechy voice.

it’s just like a mutual acquaintence said, “liberals can use guns too”...

bwaahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

I shoulda said, “yeah, but only after they’ve disarmed their opponents...”

That could take a while. He admitted to me offline that he lost the keys to his trigger lock.

Heh...Not Valerie got a kick out of that.

Year’s ago when we planned Nana and Papa’s 50th Anniversary, we (having had years of experience of sibling “help”) said “we’ll do everything).

Oldest sister said “I know a great baker, let me get the cakes.” We said “okay, but make them simple with white icing only.”

When they arrived, not only were they too small to feed our crowd, but they had Nana and Papa’s favorite scriptures on them in pink and blue...and misspelled.

We destroyed the pictures.

We really wanted Tech to win and ku to lose. But, twas not to be.

Water cooler consensus yesterday said the offensive coaching staff was to blame. The four or so minutes when VT dominated they were runnin' the ball...but they kept tryin' to pass.

I think too that there was over confidence on VT's part. A lot of folks around here said it would be an easy win. Kansas had something to prove...and they did it.

Good morning all! Wild night here, power was out for awhile... Rosie went and got us a burger, then it came back on. Hung out for awhile, I tried to drink enough bourbon to stay in the house even with the wind blowing... it sortof worked. Anyway, we made it :~)

~sigh~

'course on our side the articles floating around the Virginia blogs this week are "it could have been Allen" and "the most important word in the GOP primaries was macaca"...

Not to rehash it all, but don't think the Clinton Crime Syndicate wasn't behind all of that. Back in 2005 word on the Hill was that he was the one she was afraid of. Granted, he stuck his own foot in his mouth, but the media frenzy following is what did him in...by 9,000 votes.

In that case, g'nad, hate did win an election.

I could have been busy in a whole different way this year...

I woke up a few times last night when it was really bad, just *sure* the power must be out again, but it looks like we done OK. Still awfully breezy, though.

I wonder if there are trees down around the area.
