Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
We “Clean Sweeped” Luke’s room today. The child has no idea how many toys he no longer owns...
*snif*
That’s just beautiful...
I’m assuming Clean Sweep is some kinda show? Sounds like one I could use. :-\
Yeah it’s on one of the home improvement networks. There’s a couple of versions. They come into places that look worse than ours ever have, take everything out and sort through it. About 80% is trashed or sold at a yard sale, then they makeover a room or two for the homeowners.
We did basically the same with Luke’s room. Took everything out cleaned and rearranged furniture.
And, to be fair, we kept the stuff he actually plays with.
Ha! There are black squirrels in the Bronx Zoo. Very interesting looking.
Did you laugh an evil laugh?
Yup! And it's a great self-esteem booster... in a thank-goodness-my-mess-isn't-*that*-bad kinda way. Except, my sewing room always comes close to being *that* bad because that's where all the Christmas wrappin' happens and all the empty shipping boxes end up. The upside is that there's plenty of boxes there for the frap to get packed in.
My crochet kick is officially a phase now and I need to clear some of the quilting mess out to make room for yarn. ;) I picked up a UFO that hasn't been worked on in almost ten years and to my surprise, my tension has eased up markedly in that time - so much so that I had to go down several hook sizes to even come close to the original squares. And even then, the squares are turning out bigger. So I'm torn between tearing out the too-small squares and redoing them to match the newer bigger ones, or trying to make something like a pillow out of them. The pillow plan necessitates buying more yarn - so there's that. ;)
Oh! And I also joined Ravelry.com - it's the myspace/facebook of knitting and crochet. People post their projects and there's all sorts of patterns and forum boards for discussin' yarn and stuff. I spent almost two weeks on the waiting list, but it's been fun so far! I took pics of Big'ol's afghan (the boucle one). They're here and here. The pics don't do the colors justice - it's much more chocolate brown and orange.
Nope. He spent the rest of the evening playing with his Brio trains on his train table. He couldn’t get to it before. And I looked in on him last night when he was asleep. His room looks good.
Can I interest you in a road trip?
We think not.
Oh well.
I assure you, it’s nothing personal.
Big’ol’s afghan looks very cozy! Nice!
My writing / crocheting room needs another bookshelf or dresser for storage...that’s my problem. So I have bags of loose yarn in there...not to mention all the paper and books and stuff.
Yarn isn’t a tidy thing to store for the most part, ya know?
that's not what yuh told me...
oh, like I’d trust you with a secret...
Viggo’s up for an Academy Award in Eastern Promises
Whatever that is...
I haven’t seen a single one of the nominated movies this year.
Me neither. I’m thinking the closest we may come is Ratatouille, and we’ll wait for that.
We decided to wait for “Sweeney Todd” on DVD. We figure blood and gore on the small screen is a little easier to take.
spammich?
