The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

That is a neat turn of events! There was a young man at the OldJob who was into geocaching with his then fiance and now wife. It sounded like lots of fun - the logical, 21st century successor to old-school orienteering.

We’re supposed to get the dread 1-3 inches tonight. Who knows what that means.

I know Christmas was three weeks ago, but do you think I can exchange my family without a receipt?

Heh...we’ve been following that. Consensus around here is that if we bought a pair for every legislator they might realize what they are and learn how to use ‘em.

The guy that sponsored this also sponsored a DUI license plate bill this year. He wants anyone with three DUIs to have to use a yellow and red plate (Virginia’s are blue and white). My question was why is anyone with three DUIs driving in the first place.

Last year the same guy sponsored the “droopy drawers” which would make it illegal for boys to wear their pants below their underwear.

Yeah, fortunately we don’t have any transportation or budget issues for the General Assembly to deal with...

You would not believe...

I went to Cato Fasions and bought myself a whole new outfit! Real economical too! I got:

A dark teal cotton blazer with dark teal satin embroidery on the back. It’s short...a short blazer.

A tan tank top.

A tan and dark teal skirt (narrow, flares at the bottom, the pattern is on the sheer outer skirt, the underskirt is solid dark teal satin.

A pair of dark brown very dressy “aligator hide” boots with very pointy toes and 3 inch high spike heels. They have a strap and gold buckle across the arch.

The entire outfit cost me about $35.00! They’re having a great sale! The skirt alone was five bucks!

I’m not going to tell Steve...I’m just going to put it on while he’s shaving this Sunday. He’s bound to notice! I hope! (He didn’t notice my new Easter outfit...but then again, I didn’t come out towering above him in leather boots with three inch spike heels.)

I’ll have him take a picture.

Cato has some nice looking clothes, and not too spendy, either. Sounds like a fantastic deal on the outfit. If Steve doesn’t notice, then you need to kick his fanny with those new boots. ;o)

I’ve worn my mother’s hand-me-downs for so long. Not that they aren’t nice...she buys top of the line. But I look like a 40 year old woman in a 60 year old woman’s clothes.
