Mating may be a natural instinct, but monkey business doesn't come free for male macaques who have to "pay" females for their affections, the AFP reported Wednesday.
According to the report, a study of the primates conducted by Michael Gumert of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore found that the male monkeys must first groom the female before she will permit sex. The males use grooming as a form of currency to buy sex from the female, the study found.

I don’t see a thing wrong with this.
In fact, it’s a mighty fine system.
;)
I guess it’s analagous to dinner and a movie.
There ya go.
That's racist!
I wonder how the study "found" that. Did the researchers ask the females if being touched made them interested in sex, or if they just needed a delousing service?
Anyway, isn't doing research on macacques racist?
If I single I would try this,”hey babe, can I groom you?”.
At least you don't have to pick the fleas off your date.
Shows just how little we’ve evolved....
If every kiss begins with “K,” then you married a . . .
Cheaper than the 4 C's.
What do you mean you have a headache?
What do you mean you have a headache?

The last guy I made pick the lice off of me was too tired and no longer in the mood.
Just the little ones.
Left to her own desires, a female macaque mates about 1.5 times an hour, but that rate jumps to 3.5 times an hour when the male partner first provided grooming services, the study found. How the heck do these macaques find any time to eat anything? They've got to keep up their strength somehow.
So paying attention to a female before reaching self satisfaction is ‘paying’? I don’t see that as ‘paying’, I see that as mutual satisfaction.
“The most expensive sex you ever have is the sex you don’t have to pay for”..
