For President, Sen. Fred D.Thompson
01.01.08 | Perdogg

We hear every four years that "this election is a critical election". However, this year it is really critical. Compared with the democratic field, the republican field has produced by far the most qualified individuals to be President.

America this year can chose between two distinct paths; American Federalism or European Socialism. The only viable candidate in this election that has promised to continued this Reaganesque tradition is Sen. Fred D. Thompson.

Sen Thompson may not have the executive experience as a Gov Romney, Gov Huckabee, or Mayor Guiliani, but Sen. Thompson understands the true nature of the American political system. He also understands that more government is not the solution and that any one who holds the office of the Presidency of the United States must do so with full conviction and confidence as a conservative.

Being a conservative does not mean adopting conservative religious views, or talking like a conservative, and practicing liberal politics, but instead understanding the limits that are placed on the federal government by respecting those individuals rights that are guaranteed by the Constitution and using those rightful powers of the federal government and the Presidency to run the Executive branch, and by appointing judges to the federal bench that would be truthful to the constitution.

Sen. Thompson realizes the dangers of the Islamic threat from abroad and the need to secure our borders from illegal immigration and is not afraid to face it head on.

He understands the free market, and is not afraid to preach the values of hard work and honest investment. Although we are all sinners, Sen. Thompson has the moral credentials to serve as Commander-in-chief of our Armed Forces.

The Choice could not be clearer; A man who understands clarity of the constitution and a man who is willing to do what is needed to protect this country in the face of Islamic extremist.

For President Sen. Fred D. Thompson.

Mitt has worked hard for his votes. He has earned them. Let FRed do likewise.

Your looking for extra leverage for FRed isn’t going to happen and isn’t going to work.

The voters have the right to make THEIR choices just as you have the right to YOURS.

You mean the fact that many voters are about as dumb as a box of horsesh*t?

Let's just say some Iowa and New Hampshire Republican voters decide to view this forum for the first time and see how you guys sneer at them. Doesn't help your candidate's chances much. In fact, with friends like you FRed doesn't need enemies. Good job.

Obviously Iowans are picking their candidates on personality and ability to kiss your butt. Well, that’s just retarded....If Fred does “poorly” in Iowa, I WILL equate Iowa to O.J. Jurors and lose all faith in Iowa as a primary state.

Ridiculing and belittling your fellow Americans is not the way to win anything, except a reputation as a fool.

I know what you're saying is true, RachelFaith, and I haven't even been to Iowa. The serious candidates have been campaigning there since this past Summer, at least.

Pinging a few to your excellent post #37.

I was actually referring to most supporters of the Democrats. Thanks for playing though.

When was the last time Iowa ever picked a President? Don’t over indulge yourself. Makes you look silly.

Thanks for the clarification, but you could have said that at the start. What are we supposed to think you mean by “most voters?” AND, it is rare if non-existent to see any of FRed’s supporters here go after the Democrats. I stand corrected. You were calling the Democrats dumb. Good for you.

We need to see more attacks on Dems and less on Republicans around here.

This is being played out on the ground. While we plug our candidates here on FR, the real game is is being played out daily in Iowa. It will be an interesting week or so with the first two primaries done. I look forward to it, no matter how it plays out.

“As of a week ago, it was reported that up to 60% of Iowans HAD NOT chosen a candidate, and were beginning to take a look at the field more closely. Seems like Fred got in at JUST the right time.”

I agree and believe that many Iowans had their fill of the other candidates and now see Fred as a breath of fresh air. I expect Fred to do very well in Iowa, and his many visits to New Hampshire will pay off too. I am hoping that the Freepers from Iowa will start a thread to keep us posted on the goings on tomorrow and through the caucus if they can. It would be great to have a thread for on the ground news from Iowa. GO FRED!

I’m glad it’s getting underway. Then we will have real election results to talk about, instead of all the polling and the speculation.

All the snide remarks forgiven Ed...

But you still can answer the question....

“What then”?

What will you be doing about trying to save the Republic when the vote IS cast and the verdict IS in and Fred D Thompson has FAILED to connect... FAILED to inspire... and FAILED to Win, Show or Place?

WHAT ??!!

I am serious...

I am not trying to be a b**ch about your guy or laugh or be rude...

I really want to KNOW... because I don’t see ANY FReddy’s who have an answer for the rest of us?

None of these guys are gonna get more than 30%...

Which means 70% don’t like whoever the winner is...

So... Freddy’s...

“Whatcha gonna do ‘bout it” ??

I agree with that completely.

Yes, over the last few months I have gotten rather sharp-tongued with regard to some of the other GOP candidates. I certainly won’t be voting third-party or for Hillary even if it means voting for Rudy, Paul, or Huck.

Romney I’m OK with. Fred, I like, but I understand that many don’t like his “style” FWIW.

The only candidate on our side whose support I really question and fail to understand is Mike Huckabee.

You know so many took David Limbaugh wake up call to FRED as an endorsement it is typical of them.

They remind me of a group, in one of the Bible stories as though they don’t need to struggle like the rest be because they are the privilege and the rest of us are losers!

To them it there for the taking but like RF said

“And the only place he has any real support is in the very UNREAL virtual fantasy that is FreeRepublic.”

They also thought because it is theirs for the taking that Rush should endorse Fred, someone who has not even started to walk the walk, but in their minds if only Rush would endorse than the votes would appear!

This reminds me of Huckabee who has no real support or means of those people who are movers and shaker and get things done called producers none are putting their money behind Huck.

So Huck and his no “Pot to pee in followers” are doing a fast one, the bankrupt users they are, to con the MSM for free air time which still also equals no REAL VOTES!

The answer is, support the GOP candidate, even if reluctantly.

That said, for us who support FDT, he DOES inspire us. He DOES connect with us. We value substance over style. Many people do not, unfortunately, hence the election of people like Bill Clinton.

I will vote GOP and am confident neither Paul nor Huckabee will be the nominee. Most likely, the nom will be Rudy or Mitt but all is up in the air at the moment.

And, I agree with your assessment of DummycRat voters.

The more Huckabee reveals himself, the more alarming he is.
It is difficult to view him as a Republican. He seems to have some sort of religious humanist agenda; and that is possible only for a Baptist preacher. Look at Jimmuh Carter and Bill Moyers for examples.

GMTA, restornu. I started indexing all the Romney threads to the “Romney Truth File” a couple of days ago. Now I see your tagline...LOL.

It’s a bad sign when a candidate’s followers grasp at straws and look for “someone else” or “something else” to save his campaign. Or, when they endlessly complain that “Fox News doesn’t like him.” In the meantime, the undecided voters are looking at the candidate himself and making their decision.

Romney has worked hard for his votes. Didn’t he say at one of the last debates, when asked about FRed’s entry into the race, “Now he has a chance to earn his votes, like the rest of us.” Gotta wear out the shoe leather.

Very well said. Thanks.

You are right. We MUST stand together... lest we shall surely hang separately.
