Another one bites the dust. They had to spend more than $15mm on TV spots this week.

Fact based? Well sort of. The M$M just could not credit Ronaldus Magnus, could they?

With anemic earnings like that, I can only guess that Charlie Wilson’s War sucked on toast.

I saw that The Golden Compass was down to #9, and had been pulled from a fifth of the theaters since last week. This turkey is going to fall even harder over Christmas.

Saw both this weekend.

“Charlie Wilson’s War” wasn’t bad, but two things stood out to me.

First, little mention of any Presidential involvement in the whole thing, though they did scoff at Carter’s crybaby boycott of the Moscow Olympics. Nothing about Reagan, not even a passing reference to his “tear down this wall” speech!

Secondly, after the war was “over”, Wilson couldn’t get 10 cents for aftercare in Afghanistan from his buddy Demon-rats in Congress. Of course, no mention about how this probably had much to do with the Taliban rise to power, the housing of Bin Laden and his friends and, well, you know the rest. What do you expect from Aaron “I still have a man-crush on Bill Clinton” Sorkin?

“National Treasure”, on the other hand, was good mindless fun. Yeah, there were parts that could have been better, but all the critics that were slamming this must also have hated “Indiana Jones”, “Star Wars” and “Battlefield: Earth”.

Okay, that last movie really WAS a stinker. Just seeing if anyone’s paying attention :)

I don’t know about others, but I don’t go to movies to be preached to about the ills of the world or how Big Bad Company, Inc. wants to control the world. I go to movies to be entertained. What’s wrong with that?

Yup. And they slammed the TV with adds about the Cruise, Redford anti war flick. It crashed and burned. After its first week out, all those disappeared very quickly. Another anti American film that crashed and made me proud.
