she is right. Most people I know who are Conservative like Huckabee because he is the only “Christian” in the bunch. I tell them to vote for conservative principles, not on who is/is not a Christian.
A person’s faith should not be used as some kind of business or political credential. I try to live my Christian faith and hope that my actions show my faith, not my words.
That the most rational thing I’ve heard this morning. 8>O
Huckabee took two issues that were important to conservatives and ran with them,
the Fair Tax (or tax reform in general) and Christian values.
I used to like Mike but as a responsible voter I had to read what he stands for. His latest criticism on the ‘bunker mentality’ of the Bush administration did it for me,(especially the ‘not sending enough troops at the beginning’ mantra. Remember we did think they had WMD’s and our soldiers were in harms way??)
Being ‘nicer’ to our enemies, especially the enemy we face now, ain’t gonna cut it!!
Don’t get me started on his illegal immigration ideas!!
Mike is a ‘compasionate conservative’ of the worst kind!
Tell them to remember Jimmy Carter had huge Christian support in 1976. They need to remember how that worked out.
Huckabee is a social conservative (like Bush) with a strong populist tinge. In fact there are many on the “Christian Right” with the exception of their beliefs on certain ethical/moral issues aren’t really conservative in the Ronald Reagan sense of conservative.
Hunter is a Christian - just doesn’t go using it to pander for votes. Guess he thinks it is a little more sacred.
