In prison Vick will learn a new meaning to the words, “doggy style”.

Moral of the story is do not torture and kill animals for sport. This has nothing to do with the government but Vicks actions only.

Michael Vick is a bad guy, but two years in prison for a PLEA BARGAINED DEAL is just too much.

I think that it is very hard to make such a judgement without knowing everything that the judge knows. You may have to re-assess this after the state trials. I'm sure that there will be some shocking revelations unless Vick plea bargains here as well. You might come to the conclusion that this sentence was pretty lenient.

I wonder if he’ll come out of prison with a Muslim name???

Yes he will be converted to the Religion of Peace and renounce all violence towards dogs. Instead he will endorse violence and death to infidels!

I love dogs, do not get me wrong. I loathe Michael Vick.

When the feds turned down NC’s request for help to investigate the Duke case, I decided right then and there Vick had no business in jail. This case has been pushed by the animal rights activists for years. The feds relented and swooped in & took control from the locals.

Can’t find a fed in Durham.

The equation, well there is no equation.

Wow. IIRC that’s at or near the upper limit of the sentencing guidelines, so they hit him pretty hard.

Wasn’t this the speculation since the judge gave the other two more than the Prosecution’s recommendations. Or that is what I was hearing on the news earlier this morning.

I understand that it’s the judge’s discretion, but it’s just plain wrong.

Look, when it comes to the criminal justice system, I’m VICIOUS when it comes to handing out sentences for people who commit crimes against PEOPLE, but this Vick case is an example of how the Animal Rights people have warped our society with their constant brainwashing.

Had Vick committed this same crime 50 years ago, he would have received Probation or LESS. But in recent decades, all Americans (sadly including many here) have allowed themselves to be subtly, and not so subtly, brainwashed by Leftists to believe that Animals have legal rights beyond their status as property of Humans.

The logical incoherence of the Animals Rights position is truly insane, and yet sadly, so many Right Wingers buy into this whether they realize it or not.

He's a toasted dog biscuit.

IMO, the NFL wouldn't even want him back.

Can you picture the continual booing, even demonstrations inside and outside the stadiums at every game he plays in upon release?

His very presence will be so disruptive to the game and to the sport that the NFL probably wishes he got 50 years instead of two.

The gazillion animal lovers in this country will keep him in the dog house forever.....you can make book on it.

YES, Lou, that is correct. That’s the irony of this Vick case. As all kinds of Right Wingers rally behind his severe punishment, they are WEAKENING our own moral arguments and enhancing the positions of Left Wingers who place Animals on roughly the same footing as humans.

This has nothing to do with the government but Vicks actions only.

Much as you might like to think so, that isn't true. He made a plea DEAL with the government (deal defined as an agreement entered into by both sides) and the government didn't hold up their side of the DEAL. What he was sentenced for is irrelevant.

There’re other reasons that dogfighting’s a felony. It’s not just about the animal cruelty, though that’s bad enough.
