Duncanville, Texas (AP) -- The most popular address on Cedar Ridge Drive is Jim Trulock's split-level home, which has a group sex room and attracts as many as 100 people to swinger parties featuring "Naked Twister" nights.
But the festivities could soon be over. In response to neighbors' complaints, the city has outlawed sex clubs in residential areas. Citations have been issued, and search warrants may be next.
"It's crazy that they want to force their morality down our throats," said Dawn Burton, 45, a regular guest at the parties. "We're all frustrated."
So are those who complain of the noise, traffic and parking problems that occur in their otherwise quiet, upscale neighborhood every Friday and Saturday, when Trulock's home is transformed into "The Cherry Pit."
Duncanville, which proclaims itself "The Perfect Blend of Family, Community and Business," is an unlikely venue for a neighborhood swinger club. The city of 36,000 just southwest of Dallas has about 50 places of worship and not a single registered sexually oriented business.
Duncanville officials insist they are not just another prudish Texas town giving the boot to spouse-swappers. They say it all boils down to a matter of law: Trulock is operating a business featuring live sex acts.
"It's not trying to judge anyone or pass judgment on someone's lifestyle," city spokeswoman Tonya Lewis said.
To support its claim, the city notes that the Cherry Pit accepts money from guests and promotes the parties on its Web site.
"We're not about infringing on the rights of the Cherry Pit patrons or owners," Lewis said. "But now your right to have fun has infringed on everyone else's. And now you have to draw the line."

You reckon?
I wouldn’t think “frustrated” would be the appropriate description.
It’s crazy that they want to force their morality down our throats,” said Dawn Burton,
And you are not?????
“The Perfect Blend of Family, Community and Business”
Calling it a business and drawing 100 people in a night could be a problem. Businesses have all sorts of restrictions. Especially when they are sexually oriented.
Accepts money, or requires money? I accept beer or pizza money from my friends when they come over to watch a football game.
If they're running an unlicensed business, then shut 'em down on that basis. If this is a problem with noise or tangibly disrupting the neighborhood, then shut 'em down on those grounds.
But since when do homeowners have to get permission from the city for whatever crazy (or stupid) stuff they want to do in the privacy of that home?
I'm gonna need a pic before I pass judgment on that statement.
Back in the eighties, when we were living in CA, there was a guy who worked with my husband who was into swinging, complete with home made videos. He invited us to a Christmas party at his home.He had invited other people from work and being new to the area, went.(All the furniture in the house was won on Family Feud or Price is Right) Late into the party, a neighbor woman returned to the party via the back door and the host and this woman went to bed. That ended the party.
The host was later transferred to the Four Corners area where he promptly involved many of the town’s most prominent citizens in a swingers group. It got so bad that someone in the town called the company and complained. He was fired or forced to resign and the family moved to Texas. I have to wonder if he had anything to do with this little swinging group.
Not good, not good at all...
“It’s crazy that they want to force their morality down our throats,” said Dawn Burton...cuz it’s so crowded in there already!
Kinda behind, ain't they? We did this in the 70's out here.
With all the stuff being shoved down peoples throats these days, you’d think more people would keep their mouth closed (acknowledgement to the King of Spain and Hugo).
Well Dawn I'm sure there are some cattle markets around the area you could rent one night a week. The manure shouldn't bother you.
Some stories just write themselves and lend themselves to punchlines....
All this time and nobody wondered who would party to the crack of Dawn? Really, you’re all going to have to do a little better than that. Sure, it’s “low hanging fruit” but you gotta be thorough.

If he's not, then he isn't. Simple as that.
But since when do homeowners have to get permission from the city for whatever crazy (or stupid) stuff they want to do in the privacy of that home?
In the New And Improved America Lite they do.
Freedom Lite, it's almost worth defending....
