“The doctor changed her meds and it made a world of difference.”

I would be very grateful if you would tell me more about this (the specific medicines, etc.) You can mail me if you want. Thanks.

I change diapers about 3 times a day--my help gets the others. My mom has been bedridden over two years but she learned to use them in the hospital when she broke her hip almost 7 years ago.

My mom exhibited A's characteristics several years ago but it hasn't progressed like A's. I think she has plain old dementia because she is aware of some things-- she wipes her mouth when she dribbles. When she likes something she says, "That's good!"

Mine is 91 and takes her vit C and CELL FOOD plus Km, a mineral supplement, daily. She takes no Rx drugs except an occasional antibiotic.

She has no pressure sores.

My mother is still enjoyable even if she doesn't know what she's saying. Everybody who comes here to check on her just loves her. She does something to make me laugh every day.

I am sorry but I don’t know. That was about 5 years ago and I remember, the results were dramatic. Not a cure but it sure calmed her down.

God’s best to you and all you love this Christmas.

Hold each other close and cherish the moments shared.

Life has enough struggles.

Time spent loving is never wasted.

Thanks for your kind words.

Your kind words touch me deeply.

Believe me, there are plenty hereon who wish I were not only NOT here on FR but probably not even on the planet! LOL.

Thankfully, God and I love them anyway.

But this is one of those seasons in my life where such affirmations are particularly kind and blessed.

Ditto the following to you and your loved ones:

God’s best to you and all you love this Christmas.

Hold each other close and cherish the moments shared.

Life has enough struggles.

Time spent loving is never wasted.

Thanks for your kind words.

Yes Jaysun. It is all so very sad. Hugs and love to you.You are correct that older people seem to want to talk about old times but maybe that is where their best memories are. I think all of us remember fond times when we are little..

Terribly upsetting to see a perfectly healthy, beautiful woman to fall under the disease of not really being there.

My dad just died in May. He had Alzheimers and early Dementia, but it was lung cancer that killed him.

My mother spent her 85th birthday in the hospital with a broken hip, learned to use diapers but didn't understand where she was.

She was 91 last May and we're still at it. I live with her and have it 24/7 with help that comes in daily and when I need to go out. I leave town one weekend a month.

She is 91 and looks 75. Has a full head of hair.

You know it is interesting how the doctors sign off on the death certificate. They use those numbers for the statistics nationally. I believe my Dad was listed he died as a smoker- he had not smoked for 30 year’s,
Love to you and your family.

My Mom died at 92. She was into talking about the past but that gave her comfort.

My mother's 96 YO sister is in a nursing home--and doesn't know it. My mother talks and "plays" with her and their brother every day. He's been dead 7 years. A younger sister died in May and neither of them is aware. I think of all the sorrow and misery they've been spared and think sometimes they are lucky.

My cousin's husband had a knee replacement in Sept. and got the bad staph infection. They had to remove the knee to treat the staph. Nov. 13 he had a heart attack while in rehab and had triple by-pass on Nov 16. He is due to go home Friday, but without a knee and once he is completely recovered from all this, he gets to start over with a new knee replacement.

Me? I'm going to a Christmas luncheon today. I am so lucky!

I have friends who are fighting for my mother's body parts when she turns to an angel because hers work better than my friends.
