The shark, estimated at 32 feet from nose to fin, was caught by Roger Nowell off Lands End and landed at Newlyn, west Cornwall, yesterday.

It says they measured it from the nose to the fin. Actually it does not say they "measured" it.
What it says is "... estimated at 32 feet from nose to fin ..."
Why did they not just take a tape measure and measure the hapless shark??

My husband and sons fish in the Monster Shark Tournament out of Martha’s Vineyard every July. Boy, would they love to haul in a thresher this size. It would take top prize.

I only get it when I go back to California. Santa Monica Seafood.
Wish I could venture down south and get my own, but I'm up North.

I’m trying to scare up the photo I saw of the bunch of guys who took six hours to bring in a 1000+ pound sturgeon in the Black River here in Michigan. Happened in October I think. Saw the pic at the barber shop.
