State Police are searching for the wife of a southwest suburban Bolingbrook police sergeant. "Because he's one of our officers, we thought it would be better to have an independent agency investigating," Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar said of the state's involvement in the disappearance of Stacey Peterson. It was not clear how long Peterson, the 23-year-old wife of Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson, has been missing.
She was supposed to help a friend do some painting, but never showed up.
Drew Peterson's previous wife, 40-year-old Kathleen Savio, was found dead in the dry bathtub of her Pheasant Chase home in March 2004. The investigation revealed Savio drowned. Her fingertips showed pruning from being submerged in water and her hair was wet when she was found. A coroner's jury ruled the death accidental. State Police investigated that case as well. No charges were filed. According to one official, Savio was Drew Peterson's third wife, and Stacey Peterson is his fourth. More than 20 years ago, Drew Peterson was fired from the Bolingbrook Police Department after the village board of police and fire commissioners found him guilty of disobedience, conducting a self-assigned investigation, failure to report a bribe immediately and official misconduct. He had been indicted two months earlier on charges of official misconduct and failure to report a bribe. Peterson was working under the auspices of the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad at the time. Indictments alleged he solicited drugs in exchange for information about his agency. The charges later were dropped. Drew Peterson won reinstatement with the department in March 1986. Judge Edwin Grabiec ruled police and fire commissioners lacked sufficient evidence to find Peterson guilty of the charges. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call ISP Joliet District at 815-726-6377.

***Is this the official thread or are we starting a new one?***
Thebaddog started this thread on 10/30/07 - nothing official - just a place to share opinions and news items.
When there’s some HUGE *breaking news* - folks (who are unaware of this thread) will probably start a new one.
More on Greta tonight:
Dr Baden: Similarly, the Coroners classification that the second Stanley sister died of Psychogenic Epilepsya here-to-fore unknown cause of deathhas also raised concerns about the accuracy of death certifications.
I know a guy with the middle name of Wayne. He is teased about it, too. He is actually a sweet guy. But, I think he takes aggressions out in his writing. I have told him if he ever goes over the edge to warn me so I can clean my house before the police arrive to question me.
I thought he took out the policy. If so, how could she change the beneficiary?
18 incidents? If this is true, why was Peterson still in the police department? I guess they decided the wife was lying, all 18 times.
No-one can take out a life insurance policy on a person (except dependent children) without that person’s signature. The insured person *owns* the policy and can change beneficiaries, cancel or void the policy at any time.
Unfortunately, in this case - Kathy changed beneficiary designation from husband to children (rather than other family members), so he has probably been able to access the policy proceeds as guardian of the kids.
According to witnesses he always had money - notice the plane he owns. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he had some shady business enterprises. IIRC - He and 3rd wife owned a bar.
**I guess they decided the wife was lying, all 18 times.**
The *new* police chief tried hard to whitewash the Bolingbrook Police department’s handling of her complaints - he was quite smooth and believable until that discussion. Then he stuttered and stumbled.
It has been 29 years for that psychopath to ruin untold lives under *cover of authority*.
According to (3rd wife)Kathy’s sister - Peterson has 8 kids. Two for each wife. Reporters are trying to locate the first two wives who may have remarried & had more children. They need to be found *alive* and then left alone.
You have to wonder if, as a cop, Peterson was able to hire a *hit man* to take care of 3rd wife Kathy - while he was with his children - the alibi. He was expecting to get $1million life insurance proceeds & could afford to hire a professional hitman.
Of course, he himself, could have murdered Kathy when he picked up the kids, locked the door and left. He really went dramatic by calling a neighbor & locksmith to enter the house and find the body.
Same thing with Stacy - I think that Rick Sims should be questioned extensively.
Very astute analysis.
Unusual, but not impossible--the Capano case in Delaware didn't turn up the body of the victim but there was enough evidence to prove murder.
Ping please?
Sodpoodle
Please add me to this ping list.
Thx!
Nancy Grace - Pat Lalama subbing.
Drew Peterson has an adult son (also a cop) taking care of the children. Police want to speak to the 2 pre-teens about the morning Stacy left the home. So far, Peterson not allowing it.
No-one knows where Peterson is staying.
I wonder if she is gone because she knew something about the last wife and now he couldn’t count on her loyalty anymore beause she wanted out. He ounds like a control freak. Has anyone looked up his first and second wives???
Hi guys - this new thread was started 11/6/07.

My FoxNews channel is off - but there are many new activities taking place. Greta is doing wall-to-wall on it and she does have ongoing blogs.
May update a ping list to the new thread if there’s more interest.
“Unusual, but not impossible—the Capano case in Delaware didn’t turn up the body of the victim but there was enough evidence to prove murder.”
We got a guilty verdict in May, but the judge just overturned the verdict. The DA is appealing.
It will be on 48 hours this sat.
What case is this?
Who is this guy? Henry VIII?
