State Police are searching for the wife of a southwest suburban Bolingbrook police sergeant. "Because he's one of our officers, we thought it would be better to have an independent agency investigating," Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar said of the state's involvement in the disappearance of Stacey Peterson. It was not clear how long Peterson, the 23-year-old wife of Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson, has been missing.
She was supposed to help a friend do some painting, but never showed up.
Drew Peterson's previous wife, 40-year-old Kathleen Savio, was found dead in the dry bathtub of her Pheasant Chase home in March 2004. The investigation revealed Savio drowned. Her fingertips showed pruning from being submerged in water and her hair was wet when she was found. A coroner's jury ruled the death accidental. State Police investigated that case as well. No charges were filed. According to one official, Savio was Drew Peterson's third wife, and Stacey Peterson is his fourth. More than 20 years ago, Drew Peterson was fired from the Bolingbrook Police Department after the village board of police and fire commissioners found him guilty of disobedience, conducting a self-assigned investigation, failure to report a bribe immediately and official misconduct. He had been indicted two months earlier on charges of official misconduct and failure to report a bribe. Peterson was working under the auspices of the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad at the time. Indictments alleged he solicited drugs in exchange for information about his agency. The charges later were dropped. Drew Peterson won reinstatement with the department in March 1986. Judge Edwin Grabiec ruled police and fire commissioners lacked sufficient evidence to find Peterson guilty of the charges. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call ISP Joliet District at 815-726-6377.

basically....there needs to be a body.
There is blood evidence that was evaluated by Dr. Henry Lee, and that helped get the guilty verdict.
The property the body is located is very large and has been searched extensively without success.
But she is still there somewhere.
Diabolical killers are getting too many pointers from all the Crime & forensic/investigation shows.
i.e. Stebic, Natalee Holloway.
It appears that the best way to dispose of a body is dumping it at sea/lake or leaving it in deep wooded areas where wild animals will dispose of remains.
There have also been several *medical* related murders - where the perps had access to exotic lethal drugs.
Evil walks among us unfortunately.
yeah..this guy even cleaned the drain traps to his kitchen sink and garage drain, but he couldn’t clean away the residue from the blood splatters on the garage floor.
The small lake (large pond) has been searched several times, including with the use of sonar.
He wouldn’t have dared just let her sit out in the open.
The dogs couldn’t even pick up her scent.
He killed her and placed her somewhere on that property.
He promised her that no one would ever find her, and he made good on that promise.
She is there though....otherwise he would have sold the house a long time ago.
He won’t dare sell the house.
Is there an old septic tank on the property? Sometimes folks get a second one and abandon the first. He could have filled it with cement or lye.
Just thinkin’
It is very possible.
I know the investigators researched the history of the land - all the old deeds and that sort of thing.
Whatever he did - he did it within 3 to 4 hours and then tried to pretend he didn’t have a care in the world.
He briefly cracked when the police put out a false report that the body was found on the property.
His first response was “there is absolutely no way they found her”
He stuck with that for most of the day.
As time went on his question was “did they find dna? did they find semen on the body?”
That teacher who took her kid paramour to Mexico was also named Peterson.
I’d like to be on your ping list. Usually, these “missing white girl” cases drive me nuts since they’re on the news all the time, but for some reason, this one really interests me. Thanks.
There was apparent evidence that she was in water. When the FNC commentators spewed on about the dry bathtub, I merely wondered whether hubby pulled the plug after she "drowned."
If you're referring to the often-used words, "She went missing", that is an odd way to phrase it, IMO.
Stacy may not have known the policy existed, if indeed it did.
Not sure if Stacy had any insurance. The 3rd wife, Kathy, (who mysteriously drowned in a bathtub) had the $1m policy. She changed the beneficiary from Drew Peterson to her 2 sons just before she was found dead.
They were divorced, but the financial settlement had not been finalized.
Here is a current PING list - if you want off or on please let me know.

Texas search team to help in Peterson case

What is hard to believe is that people with this guy’s record are allowed to be a cop. And the other thing is that this happens all over the country. Bad cops covering up for other bad cops.

The drowned wife had the last laugh on him. She was smart enough to change the beneficiary on the policy to her sons and not the creep. He'll not get a cent.
Saw this on another forum-
“Sister Cassandra sure is quick to throw in the towel.
Already stating that her sister is probably dead and that
Drew probably did it.”
“It is her family who has the looney pattern of behavior
gene. Mom disappears after the mysterious “accidental”
deaths of two children. Fire and SIDS back to back? Hard
to prove either one. Then she runs away leaving her
surviving kids behind? Doesn’t make sense unless she
had something to do with the deaths.”
“Stacy gets involved with this much older man, the ex wife
mysteriously drowns. Hard to prove. Hmmmm. Stacy runs away
leaving her children behind. HMMMMMMM.”
I don’t necessarily believe this but it makes as much sense as anything else I’ve heard.
