striking new collaboration between ex-Zep singer Robert Plant and bluegrass star Alison Krauss is not as unlikely as it seems, as they tell Neil McCormick

Robert Plant picks up my recording device, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "I have one of these for vocal ideas," he says. "But I never use it."
And now for something completely different: Plant and Krauss So what do you do? "I just wait until the tape starts running and then go, 'Oh baby, baby '?"
Plant sang the word "baby", or variations thereon, 271 times on Led Zeppelin's nine studio albums. It was his shamanic role fronting this groundbreaking, world-conquering rock quartet for 12 years that established him as one of Britain's greatest voices

I don't want to hear it that bad.
Who knew zeppelin were plural
Makes sense. Led Zep were a band whos music drew heavily from Folk, Country, Blues, Jazz, and Rock n Roll ... all uniquely American forms of music (excepting Folk)

Led Zep (along with Yes and ELP) ruined rock and roll with 15 minute solos and Brit pretentiousness. Robert Plant now looks like the old lady he always was.
Reminds me of the band “Hayseed DC”. Play AC-DC songs to a bluegrass beat. Kinda niche market I guess.
Yeah, manufactured lip-synching pop tarts and profanity-spewing gangsta rappers are SOOO much better.
Late 60s/early 70s R&B, early punk, even most disco was/is preferable to F’in Lead Balloon or Britney Spears.
I prefer my Zeppelin reggae style a’la Dread Zeppelin.
Led Zep, Yes, and ELP (and Genesis, don't forget the Peter Gabriel days) were INNOVATORS!!!They ROCKED! And their music stands the test of time!

Amen! “Kashmir” was and is the greatest Rock and Roll song ever. Hands down, end of discussion.
Allison Krauss and Robert Plant and a free download closes day with a nice uptick. Enjoy the song, it is good. Stranger things have happened but I can’t think of any right now.
_______
I can. Jack White and Loretta Lynn.
How about Dee Dee Ramone’s ill-fated solo career as a rapper? A monument to epic fail.
Stranger things? The Jimi Hendrix Experience toured on a packaged bill with Englebert Humperdink and Jimi was called upon to fill in for one of the musicians one night.
CLEANING WOMAN: When I was a little girl in Panama, a rich American came to our town and he was wearing the softest most beautiful sweater. I said to him, “what do you call this most beautiful fabric?”, and he said “they call it cashmere”. I repeated the words “cashmere, cashmere”. I asked if I could have it, and he said “No. Get away from me.” Then he started walk away. But I grabbed onto his leg screaming for him to give me the sweater and he dragged me through the street. And then he kicked at me with the other foot and threw some change at me. Oh, but I didn’t want the change Georgie. I wanted the cashmere. < /SEINFELD >
And heavily from Moroccan melodies and rhythms. Kashmir is nothing but a repeating Sishast or Moroccan Six.
