AccuScore has run more than 10,000 simulations for every World Series game for Yahoo! Sports, calculating how each team's performance changes in response to game conditions, opponent's abilities, roster moves, weather and more. Each game is simulated one play at a time and the game is replayed a minimum of 10,000 times to generate forecasted winning percentages, player statistics and a variety of game-changing scenarios.

Boston winning 66.8 percent of World Series simulations

AccuScore simulates each playoff game and the entire playoff series 10,000 times. This season, the team that has won over 50 percent of series simulations won their series with one exception: New York won 51 percent of simulations over Cleveland. AccuScore correctly projected Colorado to upset both Philadelphia and Arizona, but in simulations vs. Boston, the Red Sox ride home-field advantage and the dominant pitching of Josh Beckett to win 66.8 percent of series simulations.

The forecast below is based on the designated starters and was run on data available as of October 23. AccuScore's proprietary algorithm weights each game's data, and as each game is played the simulation winning percentages will change. The simulation winning percentages also will change if the projected starters change.

Game 1 Francis vs. Beckett 31.2% 68.8%

Looks like you own this one.

I have never seen the Rockies play.
They are so young.

What happened: Awhile back, someone in the Red Sox organization had a wife give birth to a daughter named
Caroline. Someone else asked the person running the
sound system to play “Sweet Caroline” as a tribute.
It caught on. Got played every game in the bottom of the
8th inning. Somehow the early 70s hit, where “good times
never seemed so good” caught on with the fans.

I have heard it at OTHER stadia too, and it’s featured
in the film FEVER PITCH

And now it’s the Dropkick Murphys with the rocked out version of the old song “Tessie”

Red Sox will tee off in the thin Colorado air.

I was thinking the exact same thing when Buck was raving about Hawpe having 29 home runs. I was thinking to myself, "Big deal. Manny, Ortiz and Lowell would hit 50 home runs each every year if they played 81 games a year at Coors."

Actually, that air is rather cold at this time of the year and if they have balls in the humidor then that’s a heavy pitch to hit.

Hoping for a sweep!!!!

Will take Schilling closing out game 6 going away then announces his retirement from the game.

Heed the example of The Old Whore.....

I don’t know, but a 98 MPH fastball WITH MOVEMENT looks pretty good to me.
Hopefully they can win game 3, so the series goes at least till Monday. A great sports night in store in Denver.

New Yorkers charged with scalping bogus World Series tickets at Fenway
By Andrew Ryan, Globe Staff

Even though the Yankees fell short, it seems some New Yorkers still couldn’t resist trying to spoil a World Series at Fenway Park.

Police arrested four New York residents last night before Game 1 and charged them with selling fake World Series tickets and scalping seats for $300 a pair, police and prosecutors said. One of the men — Jamel Bennett, 31, of Bronx, N.Y. — allegedly took a swing at officers who approached him and another man about selling bogus tickets at 7 p.m. near Boylston and Hereford streets.

Bennett pleaded not guilty today in Boston Municipal Court to charges of assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, larceny over $250 (stemming from counterfeit tickets), a peddling violation (stemming from counterfeit tickets), occupying the street for resale of tickets, and possession of marijuana.

At the same time, officers also arrested Wendell Baker, 43, of Bronx, N.Y., who pleaded not guilty today to ticket resale by owner, occupying the street for resale of tickets, peddling without a license, and possession of marijuana. Both men were ordered held on $2,500 bail.

Earlier Wednesday night, officers in plain clothes were approached by two men from Albany, N.Y., who said, according to police: “You guys want tickets ... I got two for $300.” The officers arrested Anthony Hicks, 30, and Michael Williams, 40. Both men pleaded not guilty to ticket scalping and were released on personal recognizance.
