Sox have stranded 10 runners ... how many times have we heard that this year?
To: misterrob
BC scores two TD’s in final 2 minutes and 13 seconds, WIN 14-10 over VT!
To: misterrob
USC needed that clutch TD against Notre Dame, too, a couple of years ago.

LOL.
They’re part of the game. Bunts, hit and run, stealing... stuff the Red Sox would never do...

Part of that is a function of our having so many people get on base due to superior on-base ability.

I hear ya, when I see the bat go down..I say “ya...great”
ya ya Strawtegery and all that but still.

Fuentes was the Rox closer until he got injured.

Ortiz has left 4 men on base tonight.
However, if Francoma had run Ellsbury early in the count instead or relying on the bunt then Pedroia drives him in with that ground out. Instead he forces his guys to try and get a hit of a tough reliever.
Bad.......

Exactly. I think you should very very rarely bunt (give the other team an out).

Francona has done a GREAT job getting the most out of his guys. He really manages with his head.
