Grady Sizemore led off the first inning with a homer and Victor Martinez ripped a two-run single in the fourth as the Indians roughed up Yankees starter Chien-Ming Wang early tonight in Game 4 of their best-of-five series

Jeter and Arod walked right by me years ago. They were walking back to the Marriott before a game. I didn’t even know who they were (they were in jeans an tee’s) until I asked an autograph seeker. LOL.
Oh, no. As a kid I grew up watching them kick our butts just about every year in the 50s and 60s. Some of those Yankee double headers used to pack the old stadium with nearly 80,000 fans. We lost most of them.
Too bad for Torre if he gets the axe, he’s always been a class act. I work with a lot of Yanker fans, they can eat the leftover misery pie that we Met fans have had to eat for the last month. If it weren’t for Steinbrenner, their jerky announcers and their spoiled fans, the Yankees wouldn’t be that easy to hate.
GO TRIBE!!! YES!!!
As a Twins fan I can’t say I mind this. Hopefully the Red Sox are next. Congrats to the Tribe!
I saw the last Indians and Browns games in that old stadium. I also remember my dad telling Grandma on her deathbed that we struck out Reggie Jackson three times.
I remember those days. I went to 4 or 5 twin-bills versus NY at Municipal in the 60's and 70's and the Yanks swept all of them. Gone are the days of the Max Alvis's, Vic Davalillo's and Duane Kuiper's. Hello to the Pronk's and CC's.
This series is so sweet for me!
Don't get me started on the clueless yuppie transplants who jumped on the Yankee bandwagon in the 1990s.
Great synopsis. And that photo is telling, very telling. Can you tell me which one is the nag and which one is the horse’s a**?
Hey watch it, Donna’s my name. LOL.
The Hillary Curse is much much bigger than the Yankees. It also encompasses the Mets' meltdown in September and the Bills' absurd last-minute loss in MNF tonight.
Since Hillary was sworn in to represent the State of New York, NO NY professional franchise has won their championship.

Half of them aren’t old enough to remember the Yankers having a losing season (1989). I miss the old days (1984-91) when our team owned the back page. We need another decade like 1965-74 when the Yanks sucked.
55 post season at bats, ONE RBI. Yeah, he's worth a hundred million or whatever. Stinkbrenner richly deserves what his 200 million dollar a year payroll just brought him. Squat. Fizzle. Nothing. Three years in a row. Proof there is a God.
Wow, that pay thing is entirely SICK. Baseball seems the only sport where you can just write a check for wins. Whatever happened to chemistry, draft picks, coaching/teaching, plain old dumb luck?
Those were great days. It was something of a tradition to have the Yankees in on the 4th of July for a double bill. Some of the biggest crowds in MLB history I believe were in Cleveland back then. And why not, when you could pay two or three bucks and see Bob Feller pitch to Mickey Mantle?
OH YES!
OH GOD YES!
Those flies are called “Canadian Soldiers.”
