Not a bad scenario for the Pats going into the Dallas game. They won yesterday but they also were sloppy so look for them to be very sharp on Sunday. Yeah. Probability is that the score will be like the Bills game, even with a much more competent Dallas team.

This will be one of the gut-wrenching nail-biters thatll go down to the final tick. Both teams are overdue for one. It must be killing NBC that they don't have that game next week.

Well after tonight the only common opponent for both teams will have been the Bills. I expect Dallas not to have too much trouble with Buffalo.
To: mainepatsfan
NBC will have to deal with it. It’s on CBS, formerly the Cowboys Boadcasting System. Their credo back when they had the NFC package was, “when in doubt, give ‘em Dallas.” No kidding.

The Billlls game is just the cartoon leading up to the main feature.

I thought for sure before the schedule came out that this game was going to be on either in prime time or on Thanksgiving.

The Billlls game is just the cartoon leading up to the main feature. Appropriate choice of words considering the ESPN broadcast is a cartoon.

You guys would pound the ball as often as possible, and now youre throwing as often as possible. It's more a a safety thing, rather than a running/passing thing. Until 2004, NE had very little running capability...just doing enough to keep teams honest, and throwing a lot of short, safe stuff. With the current crop of receivers, much longer routes have become "safe". Also, the defense isn't as dominating since 2003, so there's more risk in not opening it up than there used to be. Brady was always (at least after 2001) capable of shooting it out...with a set-back last year...but as long as the defense was dominant, there was no point to it.

A perfect example was in 2002 and the first half of 2005 when the defense wasn’t playing well.

I hesitate to believe anything from ESPN at this point after their screwing up injury reporting on Eli Manning and Alex Smith.
Also, after reading the side box in that article, to paraphrase Travis Johnson, “f*ck Mike Golic.”

I didnt think Da Bears had it in em anymore It was indeed a pleasant change from what Bears' fans have seen this year so far. Greise was efficient, the offense looked like it was mixing up the run and pass well, and the defense played tough when it had to.
It is amazing how if the offense doesn't hand the ball over in stupid turnovers how a team can stay in a game. It gives your team a chance to win at the end. Nice adjustments on defense to force Favre into some costly mistakes towards the end. Credit Lovie for some kind of tough-love half time speech to wake them up.
It was some competitive football... for a change.

Also this morning I have heard that Rex is on the trading block in a couple of the weeks...
One thing I have notice is that on the sideline I did not see Rex with the QB coach or Griese at all...

Dallas should win by 30 on paper but this is why they play the games. If Buffalo can jump out to a 14-0 lead they may actually have a shot at the upset.
I took Buffalo and the 10 points in the point spread game, but took Dallas to win in the straight up game.
