Tyler, TX – Human rights activists are criticizing Tyler, Texas officials for changing the names of city streets from area trees to executioners who have participated in the killing of condemned men throughout the years, Underneath Politics has learned.

"Texans are a proud people, and we’re tired of being criticized by liberals and Europeans that don't believe in justice," said Tyler City Councilman Randy Simmons. "Instead we want to honor those who chose to make executing persons guilty of murder their profession."

Ya’ll just go down two blocks and hang a right. Go down for a stretch and you’ll see a dead end road. Bam, you’re there.

Is this satire, or just a case of Texans being Texans?

Tyler?

I would have expected this from Huntsville, where the 100% rehabilitation is administered.

LOL. You should give Leno that line - it’s better than what most of his writers come up with.

On a side note, every time I see or hear that word “bam” I can’t help, but think of Emeril Lagasse.

Oh, hell no. In fact, I may have to consider moving from my current Texas address to Tyler and buy a house on Big Shooter Street.

As Robert Pratt would say, "Long live liberty and long live Texas!"

Exactly. What is the count now--18 or 19 this year?

“Texans are a proud people, and we’re tired of being criticized by liberals and Europeans that don’t believe in justice,” said Tyler City Councilman Randy Simmons.

Question........

Why isn’t there a councilman by the name of Randy Simmons listed on the City of Tyler’s web site for the city council and government?.....

The Council for 2007-2008 includes:
Charles Alworth, Donald Sanders, Ralph Caraway,
Mayor Joey Seeber, Nathaniel Moran
Mayor Pro Tem Steve Smith, and Chris Simons,
.
