This little Brown Anole had my favorite bench staked out for his show, for all the effort he put into it I hope the lady lizards noticed it.

Cool.
Had a green anole, he seemed to think he was vastly larger than he truly was.
He liked to try and drag my hand off.

The Carolina anole (Anolis carolinensis), also known as the green anole, is an arboreal lizard found primarily in the southeastern parts of the United States and some Caribbean islands.....Us lizards, gotta keep together. :)

This one is a Brown Anole, Anolis sagrei sagrei, also called Cuban Anole. They stay closer to the ground than carolensis does. They don’t handle cold weather as well, I don’t think they live much further north than here. The Green Anole can be brown, but they don’t have the skin patterns.

Would these guys live in the Houston area too? I think I see some things like this in my back yard.

Good pictures. My sons are keeping brown anoles for a Boy Scouts project. It’s interesting to watch them hunting crickets.

They are cool little critters, seem to actually have some smarts. I had one around here for a while that would sit and wait until I caught a yellow fly, then take it from my fingers.
