“People who take vitamin D supplements appear to have a lower risk of death from any cause,”
WRONGO!
Tell that whopper to folks suffering sarcoidosis.
I got yer Vitamin “D”, right over here.
If I’d-a knowed this, I woulda drunk more Bosco...
Studies have shown that people need the benefits of natural sunlight by day, and a good long rest in the dark at night. In other words, Mother Nature.
“I love Bosco, it’s good for you and me!”
Are you saying that vitamin D causes sarcoidosis, or that people with sarcoidosis can’t handle vitamin D well, and that extra is bad for them?
Mrs VS
You’re not suggesting that Vit D supps CAUSE sarcoidosis, are you?
Anyone taking megadoses of Vit D should have blood levels tested from time to time, but even if they see elevated levels, stopping the Vit D supps wouldn’t stop sarcoidosis, I don’t think.
Sarcoidosis appears to be the CAUSE of elevated 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D, not the other way around, right?
“Bosco gives me iron, and sunshine Vitamin D.
Oh, I love Bosco, that’s the drink for me!”
There. Got it right this time!
Wonder how many people reading this ever heard of Bosco??
I'm way, way too young ever to have heard of Bosco. But someone told me about it. Yeah, that's right.
Someone also told me about some lyrics that said, "Chocolate tastes like Bosco tastes like chocolate tastes like Bosco. Chocolate tastes like Bosco tastes like chocolate tastes like Bosco tastes like that's the drink for me." But I don't remember that one either because I'M MUCH TOO YOUNG FOR ALL THIS MIDDLE-AGED STUFF! No, really!
I’d say about 40-to-50%.
Bosco sure was great on vanilla ice cream!
No, I did not say that D CAUSES sarcoids.
I said that people SUFFERING sarcoids have a problem with D.
No one knows yet what causes sarcoids. It is a disease of unknown origin.
But, new findings prove what sufferers have long known, sunlight and vitamin D seriously aggravate the condition.
So much so that if you have it, you really need to pay attention to sunlight exposure and what you eat.
Bosco was the password I believe.
Great finger food for us kiddies
Do they still make the stuff?
Here was the official jingle:
I love Bosco
It’s rich and chocolatey
Chocolate-flavored Bosco is mighty good for me
Momma puts it in my drink for extra energy
Bosco gives me iron, and sunshine vitamin D
Oh, I love Bosco, that’s the drink for me!
Here’s the one that the kids sang:
I love Bosco, it’s full of TNT
Mommy put it in my milk to try and poison me.
I fooled Mommy, I put it in her tea.
Now there’s no more Mommy to try and poison me!
Of course, if you sang that on a playground now-a-days, you’d be suspended...
I still can’t go to the market without thinking, “Woo Woo Welches” when I go down the juice aisle.
I think the earth police and the globull warming nuts have erroneously frightened people.
