You may recognize them from AMC or Turner Movie Classics LOL..Babe? yes..innocent? ..I am not so sure.
;o)
I am as innocent as a new born baby. Trust me. LOL
My Mother told me about some of those ladies; Clara Bow, Marlene Deitrich, Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Haworth, Susan Hayward, Marilyn Monroe, etc. Because of my youth and inexperience I did’t recognize many of the others.
Hello Lady Jag. Hope that you are having a grand day.
I liked the way the picture morphed from one person to another.
Clara Bow the “It Girl”. I looked at the clip again,
Sandra Bullock, Jane Fonda, Bridgette Bardot, Sophia Loren, Reese Witherspoon, Sigorni Weaver, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Audrey Heburn, Catherine Hepburn, Natalie Wood, Michelle Phieffer, Meg Ryan, Nicole Kidman, Jody Foster, Halie Berry, Mae West, Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep, Diane Keaton, Betty Grable, Barbara Stanwick. I will have to go back and see the ones that I missed
Who was the first blond, the Sex Kitten they called her??
Bridgett Bardo, I just remembered.
Janet Lee, Ann Margret, Julie Andrews, Shirley McLean, Lauren Bacall, Hedy Lamarr, Barbara Steinbeck,?? Judy Garland, Kim Novack, Sandra Dee,
All very good actresses. I must admit that I had a difficult time typing Jane Fonda’s name and recognizing that she was an American actress and not a u***al target.
Hanoi Jane, what a waste of a possible useful human being!
Just chatted with my brother back in Billings Montana, he
told me about the old and small valley we used to hunt rabbits in as kids. Now its a private community, almost a
gated community and the place is now all expensive homes and those who drive anything other then an Audi or Lexus are unwanted.
Got me to thinking.
Forgetting the Line of Time
It just an old country road
passing through fields where I was young
where I learned to hunt and fish, farm, and live
Now its a paved road with expensive houses
and the ‘new people’ haven’t a memory to give
for to them the land’s song was never sung
for them, no history is sowed
They possess, but don’t feel it
they control but don’t know the span of days
and in the end they pass on in time unaware
of what and who came before, no memory rouses
to them it is only the now of which they care
and sad I watch the price of history they slay
and do so uncaring even a bit
Sailors are filled with the milk of human kindness, and have only the warmest regard for kittens, small dogs, women of every age, and such things. It is the nature of those ‘other sorts’ that spread such lies about us and demean us with their stories of wild debauchery and crass treatment of wenches fair and nubile in every port. Why to be that sort of fellow, we would have to be a ground pounder, a grunt, or one of those flighty air cadets, and that sort of upbringing misses the grandeurs of the sea and the broadening of one’s horizons as is the sailor’s lot. Marines run a close second, and I think that is simply due to the beneficial effect of being around sailors a lot. It takes a special sort of fellow to be a sailor, one who sees the horizon as a welcoming place, one who has the love of meeting new people (and not shooting them), but rather to get to know them over a glass of some local potable, and learning a bit about them from the very interesting and often beautiful ambassadors we meet in delightfully interesting waterholes around the globe.
Ahhhhh yes, the sailor is a paragon of virtue and good will, painted as a blackguard and a wanton by those jealous of our wider experience in life, our ability to meet interesting people (even if it was the guy’s girlfriend), and our snappy dialog and warm and welcoming humor. Its hard to be humble when you are really that good!
;^)
Great history! No, I could not figure out which one was you..There was more than one good lookin’ guy!
:)
God Bless your father in law and you for your service.
Go NAVY!
The more that people are mobile, the more local history gets trampled.
