Monmouth County Teacher Arrested on Charges of Possessing Child Pornography (NJ)

FBI agents on Monday arrested an elementary school teacher on charges he possessed at least three images of child pornography.

Robert Cholowinski had told agents last week that he had been trading in child pornography over the Internet for several years, the FBI said. Agents found what appeared to be such images on his computer at his Neptune home.

Cholowinski, 46, was suspended with pay from his job in Hazlet, where he taught third grade at the Middle Road School, said William O. George, interim superintendent of the school district.

Authorities told school officials there is "no evidence to suggest that this involves any Hazlet students," George said.

U.S. Magistrate Patty Shwartz set bail at $250,000, which Cholowinski would probably meet by posting his house, Assistant U.S. Attorney Dustin Chao said.

A message seeking comment from Cholowinski was not immediately returned.

This would not happen if they allowed teachers to marry.

suspended with pay

Of course! You didn't expect him to be FIRED, did you? I don't think there is any crime a public school teacher can commit that would result in immediate firing (that's firing, as in without pay.) Unbelievable!
