Kathy Griffin's Bravo series "My Life on the D-List" won the Emmy for "Best Reality Program (non-competition).
Her speech was memorable, in which she refused to thank Jesus.
"A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this. He had nothing to do with this," Griffin said. "Suck it, Jesus. This award is my God now."
The comic has won that Emmy shes long coveted.
THAT’S her??? Kramer was right, she needs to shut up.
Kathy who?
BTW, that photo should come with a warning. That’s a little rough on the eyes this time of day.
I guess she’s not aware of what happened in France when they told God to kiss off.
A Steely Dan song line
Hey - I’ve got better looking horses.
Love your tagline. Sadly we don’t learn from history.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.
Maybe they need glasses.
Kathy Griffin epitomizes the stereotype of the Ugly American.
God’s more forgiving than all people but you have to ask for it; He doesn’t just throw out blanket forgiveness.
Nor is He going to force Himself on anyone. If she wants to spit in His face and take her chances, that’s her prerogative, but she has no one to blame but herself if she doesn’t like the consequences.
That trophy may be her god, but she won’t be taking it with her. It’ll be her and nothing for eternity.
Where do you see she has turned to God? I see nothing here (I acknowledge that all I know of here is what I read here) that indicates she has turned to God. In fact, others have brought up further indications beyond her statement that she has NOT done so. So, I believe we are correct in our belief that she is 'apart from God' and not worthy of His blessing.
I just think the speedy rush to consider Kathy Griffin's eternal damnation, for ill-chosen words, is odd. God Almighty cannot be a moody teenager, holding grudges and enacting petty revenge. His mercy must surpass anything we can imagine.
Exo 20:5 "You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,"
Exo 34:14 "(for you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God),"
Deu 4:24 "For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God."
Deu 5:9 "You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,"
Deu 6:15 "for the LORD your God in your midst is a jealous God--lest the anger of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth."
Yes, His mercy will surpass all understanding, but so will his judgment to those who don't seek that mercy. You are not giving God his due. He is compassionate, but also jealous in his ascendancy.
What a shock.
Thank you for proving my point....SFF
She’s the one who was the MC for the Gay Porn awards a few months back.
Oh well; the only consolation I get from stuff like this is that one day she’ll stand before God and He’ll sort it all out.
What? And miss the fun of screwing everything up all over again?
I seem to remember a command to love those who persecute you.
Perhaps you should organize a group that will pray for Ms Griffin.
Amen.
This is a subculture that develops in all western civilizations when times are fat.
Dump her out of the car in Yemen dressed as she is and she will find God.
Her attitude will speed the response of the locals.
John 1:10-12 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God 13children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
It's God's desire that it be the case for all of us, but it's a choice WE have to make.
Griffin has managed to parlay minimal talent and looks into a fourth-rate standing on a cable channel that few people even know exist.
She boasts of her appeal to the gay crowd and joins the Franken/Mahler set in bashing President Bush for laughs.
'nuff said.
