The venture started with LUV W & Mr.LUVs arrival into Buffalo, NY.
We then went to visit TheMayor and his wonderful wife in Grand Island, NY.
Where we also met DollyCali, AFPhys, and Wheelbarrow. (top middle)
Russ cooked up a feast on the grill and we shared stories and laughs.
I also taught them the proper way to roast corn!
(If I were to say that Dolly was a riot, it would be an understatement!)
The next day the LUVs and I went to Niagara Falls for sightseeing. And what a sight we did see from up on high in the Skylon Tower.
From there we treked accross NY from west to east till we got to the Portland, Maine Jetport and met up with Mylife and his friend Scotty.
A native of the area. Which was great because I would have been lost getting us in the right direction without him!
We met up with Ms.Behavin and we followed Moxie to the cottage after a grocery store run.
We arrived to find a wonderful place to relax and rest our bones in between excursions.
It has a spectacular view! Throughout the week we watched and visited seaside activities nearby.

The next morning we gathered up with many members from the Maine Chapter of the Patriot Guard Riders to escort a Purple Heart recipient soldier to a local VA Hospital that was holding various ceremonies.
It was quite a parade with the PGR out in front with their Flags in the breeze and the Rusty Nuts classic car club in tow!
We arrived to greeting fans and waving patients, guests, and VA personnel.
After the bikers parked, they took time out to bring patients to the grounds so that they too could enjoy the festivities.
They may look intimidating, but they are the kindest of souls!
We had a nice picnic lunch and saw lots of vintage cars.

After a short nap back at the cottage we headed out to the Great Falls Hot Air Balloon Festival in Lewiston.
This is where we got to see The Practical Cats play some great tunes for us! Mike (TheRealMr.B) and the band were Great!
We didnt stay long enough to see the balloons go up because we were on another mission to go lobster shopping.
We made a fire at the Bs firepit and I made some roasted corn. I nearly blew my head off lighting the grill! Yark!
Mr.B demonstrated the fine art of dismanteling a lobster after they were cooked. A fine job he did of instruction!

We were surprised by Ms.B on Tuesday with a trip
on a schooner out into
Casco Bay off Portland.
It was breathtaking for this landlubber!

Lots of lighthouses to see
...one of my favorite sights!

It was great having all you freepers up here in Maine escaping the heat, of course it got hot and hazy again right after you left.
A couple of Maine facts:
Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the Eastern seaboard, and the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec, Maine, are the two points where the sun rises first in the US.
Somes Sound is the only fijord on the East Coast of the US.
Maine has some of the highest tides in the world.
There’s a lot of unique stuff found in the State of Maine. As a fellow “flatlander” I was constantly amazed for years as I made my daily discoveries.
And you didn’t even see any moose.

What an awesome trip you all had! These photos are beautiful. Thanks so much for the ping and sharing them with me!
Niagara Falls is gorgeous. How nice you went to and met with The Mayor and his family. They made you a nice dinner :) Looks like such a fun visiting with each other!
I admit I’m very jealous ;)LOL. You did so much on this trip. And you had some great meals made by the chefs in your group :)
Maine is such a beautiful place. I would love to do a trip driving up the coast--- one of these days. I had gone 2 times in my life , when I was much younger. I see why the Bush’s love Kennybunkport.
The cottage and the views, looks like a piece of paradise. :)
