It’s a toss-up as to who is worse. BTW: I’d say the same to Arlen when or if he leaves.
Tom Davis’s lifetime ACU ratings is 70%. Although the past two years, his ACU ratings have dipped into the mid 50’s.
I will concede Davis is a smart guy on par with Barone, but his votes are growing more and more odious, and he represents the statism of the NOVA RINO that is turning that area of the state into New Jersey (and that goes double for his wife, who probably he is going to help greatly in winning his House seat).
Are those NOVA voters partisan Democrats or moderate Republicans, a’la the Philly metro area and New Jersey?
NOVA was until the 1960s, a Conservative Dem area that was represented by the likes of Howard Smith, and then became Republican, although was gradually becoming left-wing rodent in Alexandria and Arlingon, and ultimately, by 1990, they voted out the last GOP Congressman and replaced him with the horrid Moran. Those areas have become almost complete one-party far-left rodent cesspools, and the rot has spread into Fairfax County. You seem to have liberal RINOs attempting to sell themselves to the far-left rodents that have been spreading their destruction outside their normal liberal hives, and Davis tends to exemplify that. More telling is that we’ve been seeing a lot of the legislative seats voting out more and more Republicans in that area, too. Way too many suburbanites are going the opposite direction politically from where they used to be and should be.
Really? I don't know anything about her, but what I hear is that the Head Idiot from the Fairfax County Board of Whatevers (the local meddlers) is DYING to take Davis' Congressional seat. His name is Jerry Connelly.
It depends on what part of NOVA you are talking about. There are three Congressional districts in NOVA. Two of them have been electing RINOs since the dawn of time so obviously are not partisan Democrat.
I would have to look up whether one or both went for Bush on 04. As I recall at least one of the two did.
The other one is Jim Morons district. That is what you call partisan RAT.

Ugh. I fear for Loudon and Prince William counties. Even Frank Wolf’s district may become competitive when he retires.
I’ve had family that have lived in both (first Manassas, and now Leesburg). Unfortunately, they’re representative of “wealthy guilty white liberals” (one works in a gov’t-related job). When my parents were visiting with them recently, the 16-yr old public-school educated son blurted out, “Y’know, communism is the only truly fair system.” My father, who is no right-winger, almost choked on his lunch.
Wolf himself beat a Watergate baby in 1980, though when he retires, I still expect the seat to remain GOP.
I hear that Mark Warner has a “Clinton problem.”
As for Republicans, it’s either Jim Gilmore or Tom Davis.

Isn’t one reason for the RAT trend in NoVa due to the inability of GOP legislators to provide solutions for traffic congestion in NoVa? Marky Mark and the Eyebrow Man have been successful in promoting transportation tax increases as the solution to traffic congestion and portraying anti-tax Republicans as “Out of Touch”. The bickering between conservatives and NoVa RINOs have made Marky Mark and the Eybrow Man look to the voters.
Arlington is beyond help. Fairfax might be salvagable. We shouldn’t write off that county just yet. Loundon and Prince William should not be carried by the RATS in the first place. These two counties did vote in favor of the anti-gay marriage amendement despite also supporting Webb.

I know it’s hard, but I reckon we should respect the office, even if it has been filled by a waste of animate protein for far too long.
