Ladies and Gentleman, Peeps of All Three Sexes, the College football season is here!!!
Tonight's slate works out a little somethin' like this (Due to East Coast bias, all times are Eastern):
7:00 PM Buffalo at #16 Rutgers
7:00 PM Miami (OH) at Ball State
7:00 PM Southeast Missouri State at Cincinnati
7:30 PM Murray State at #10 Louisville
8:00 PM #2 LSU at Mississippi State
8:00 PM Kent State at Iowa State
8:00 PM Southeastern Louisiana at New Mexico State
8:05 PM UNLV at Utah State
9:00 PM Weber State at #24 Boise State
And in a few short hours, I'll be heading on a jet plane to the West for:
10:00 PM Utah at Oregon State
Break out a case of Pabst, throw some steaks on the grill, and find a foam finger, the season is here!
No. The MNF games will still be on ESPN. By virtue of the fact that both ESPN and ABC are owned by the same company, there's an ESPN branding to all of the college games that ABC airs.
Thanks.
Well, the ACC got a big boost from Ga. Tech, but NC State just pissed a lot of it away...
No. I gather ESPN is just trying to promote ESPN on ABC.
..and now Andrea is a nun. Maybe Maria will do the same.
Bummer. Thanks.
I think they changed it all to ESPN last year....so delivery over the internet and podcasts was all uniformly labeled.
Washington quarterback Jake Locker (10) scores on a keeper against Syracuse during the third quarter of Washington's 42-12 win in a football game in Syracuse, N.Y., Friday, Aug. 31, 2007.
Stanford QB T.C. Ostrander gets sacked by UCLA's Korey Bosworth in the first half.
University of California running back Justin Forsett (R) attempts to avoid University of Tennessee defensive back Jonathan Hefney in the first quarter during their NCAA Division college football game in Berkeley, California September 1, 2007.
Oregon running back Jonathan Stewart, right, avoids the grasp of Houston defender Rocky Schwartz during the second half of Oregon's 48-27 win in a football game Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, in Eugene, Ore.
What happened to MikefromOhio being in charge of this thread?
Well I don't think UF would have matched OU's 79.
But after watching Tennessee’s defense get sliced and diced by Cal, I think we could hang 50+ on them.
Yes, I am a Polish-American!
Well I picked OU because I knew Stoops would run up the scores so his players stats get padded, either way it doesnt matter because so many teams broke the spread this first week my pick ‘em is pitiful.
I will say that Tennessee’s and Auburn’s performances left me underwhelmed, and that maybe the SEC won’t be as dominant this year.
And OU, can you please hang 79 on Miami too?
After the national title game last year, he disappeared. So I’m taking over for the time being.
USC's Ronald Johnson stiff arms Idaho's Brandon Ogletree in the second quarter.
(Wasnt the spread 35 pts?)
I’m betting that Brady had to shut his cell phone off yesterday.
Agreed. One other thing is for sure...I don’t think Appalachian State will be getting too many more invites by any Division I schools anytime soon.
True. If we had to rank all Division and Sub Division I schools Appalachian State would be ahead of a decent number of the Division I schools.
Perhaps next year Michigan should schedule a Division III school just to be safe. Heck maybe Plymouth State should give them a call!
