Happy birthday, FRiend! You're not actually old until the incoming freshman girls hold the door for you and call you "sir."

...oh, they do? ;-)

Chronological age is mostly irrelevant. It's how you take care of yourself and your quality of life that matters.

I actually feel younger at 44 than I did at 33. I lost over 100 pounds in 2003 and it was literally like going into a time machine. I now feel 28 and expect to feel that way for quite some time to come.

Ironically, I also spend much more on food than I used to when I was heavier. I don't mind spending extra money at the all-natural food stores. I'll happily pay $8 a pound for porterhouse steak rather than $2 a pound for hamburger that is mostly fat and gristle. I'll pay $2 a cup for all-natural yogurt than that 3/$1.00 Dannon crap that is full of high fructose corn syrup.

In fact, eliminate high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils from your diet and walk at least 5 miles a day, you will feel younger than your chronological age.

You might enjoy an Alberto Moravia short story in that line, Silly Old Fool.

Thank you although I bet this turns into a “Hank is an old man” thread.

I turned 49 today. It feels a lot like 48.

That's what you think now.

Remember when you were 14-yrs-old in 1972, when you first saw "The Godfather"?

Remember that old man, the godfather, Marlon Brando?

Marlon Brando was 48-yrs-old in 1972, LOL!
