I’m right at that Week 2 brink where I usually waver between “I’m brilliant! This story ROCKS!” and “Why do I do this to myself? This story has been told before, and by much better authors, and my characters are one-dimension and pathetic and never actually *do* anything, and really I should put this whole thing out of its misery and stop pretending that I can write...

Yeah, I’m hoping to steamroller those thoughts flat and stomp on them. Actually my most hatred of a story comes the month after it’s been written. That’s the time I have to resist deleting the file.

I figure, every story has been told before, and better, but something has to get published every month so why not our stuff? ;-)

I’m at the library...printing up a resume to take with me to my interview which is in forty-five minutes.

I’m nervous! This will be a real interview, and I haven’t had one in ten years! (The agency I hired on with recently just basically had me fill out some paperwork, turn in my documents like my shot records and then get to work.)

I’m gonna have to rewrite a scene. There’s no helping it. I just got it totally wrong the first time and I have got to fix it now or my mc’s whole character development arc doesn’t work.

I didn’t get much writing in before work today. I’m having trouble adjusting to “how we met” lovey-dovey stuff after so much stalking and creepy revenge plotting.

Don’t do it! Tag it, jot down notes about what to change in the ‘margin’ (so they count as word count) and move on. Just slap an italicized “rewrite this so she is less of a beeatch and more blah blah blah” between scenes so you know what to change and go on as if you changed it. Start rewriting when you hit 50... next saturday... :-P
