Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
It worked for me but did not seem to have an footage of the actual drive through part. It seems to have been taking and aired before the event and refers to it as something that is going to happen.
Glad you didn’t decide to give me a quick shot when I was there! :~)
Didn’t show all the cars lined up then?
We had six stations, and a line on either side of each station...so twelve lines. Two nurses on each line, one for the driver’s side, one for the passenger side and one assistant checking paperwork for the two nurses.
The lines were unbelievable. We gave shots as fast as we could for 5 solid hours.
I got sunburned!
Ah man, I was great! Not a single tear was shed.
;-D
I wouldn’t cry... just pass out.
LOL!! You and Steve...
At least I’m not squirming any more... ;~)
Heh!
Well, it’s a whole lot faster and easier than it used to be (and I have to say...I was pretty fast even before). The technique has changed. See, before you were supposed to stick, then draw back on the plunger a bit. If you got a blood return, then you had to discard the entire syringe and stick again...because it meant you were in a blood vessel and the shot was supposed to go into a muscle, not mainlined into vessel.
But in all the years I’ve ever given a shot in the arm, I’ve never ever had a blood return and I guess they just figured the chances were so slim, let’s cut out that step.
So it went blinding fast, because needle retracted after you pushed in the medicine. They’d literally pop and the needle would instantly retract up into the syringe after the medicine was injected. (Wonderful...fast, no chance of getting stuck.)
Be sure to get videos!
I had my big meeting today things went much better than expected. I got my point across, they got theirs across, we tap danced around some issues and confronted others. All in all, pretty good. At the end of it all, the ranking officer gave me a coin. This just blew me away, because the organization it is from means a lot to me. it was such an honor that I got all weepy eyed. I'll try to get a pic of it and let y'all see.
Wow!!! That is really neat!
I think hair fainted.
I gotta say...I think I could get to liking that stuff!
I gotta go. I took that MMR vaccine, what...two weeks ago? I’m still having trouble with my joints because of it. Awful!
Gonna take a hot soak.
Ya know, I was wondering if such a graphic description was a good idea...

Fascinating...but possibly a bit much for the inoculation squeamish. ;-)
Mmmmm... a soak sounds nice. Enjoy!
A challenge coin is a big honor for a GI to receive. It's an unofficial "attaboy" for something that can't be rewarded by an official medal. For a civilian earn to one is even a greater honor. You can also brag about a challenge coin, while you shouldn't brag about a medal.
You've earned your bragging rights. Be sure to learn about the challenge coin ceremony, so you can get free drinks when hanging out with the other troops, and not get stuck with the entire bar bill.
LOL! I'd have probably done the same thing!
I don’t like talkin’ about shots ;~)
