We're waiting to hear from Staples because he sent the design there for them to copy it onto transparent paper. We would have done it here, but the smallest amount of transparency stuff you can buy is 100 sheets for $30, and we neither needed that much, nor did we want to spend that much on it. This way, he's getting it done for $6. I'm just hoping they'll have it ready within the next hour so he can put it up over the door before it gets dark!

No problem. Let me know when you need more added. And if he kicks it out, you can push it back in, as long as it hasn’t gotten wet. Ideally, there’d be a raised doorway on that doghouse to help hold it in.
So here’s a problem:
Our pups sleep in a cage at night and stay there while we’re at work. They don’t mind, it’s obviously their den, but the board on the bottom is hard and sometimes they wake up in the night clawing at it. Problem is, anything we put down they chew up in two days. Rugs, cardboard, blankets, whatever. I’m sick of cleaning up tiny scraps of fabric from the room. The massive dog hair piles are bad enough.
Any clue? Is there anything soft that labs can’t chew up? They aren’t that chewy, really, but if it’s in their cage they can’t resist.
I could always tack a small board across the front, I s’pose!
He does like that house. Sometimes he asks to go out and then just goes straight in there...and sometimes he wants to sleep there at night and I have to argue with him to get him into the house for the night.
Not me. Tho I may write during my “lock-in” meeting tomorrow.
Second option would be stall mats. For horses. These are hard rubber mats we put on the stall floor. Bay's standing on one in the picture.
They're made out of tire-grade rubber, like kongs are, or harder, and as much as 3/4 inch thick. They're heavy, the dogs wouldn't be able to pull them up or chew them... you could cut them to fit with a saws-all or a circular saw, but it's not easy. One of them costs about $40. They'd have them at your local farm supply in a few different grades and thicknesses.
They'd be a little more comfy to lay on than the hard plastic.

I’m still not sure where I’m gonna start! This is going to be one of those stories that can’t be told chronologically, so it’ll be a pain in the rear to write. I guess because I’m unsure of the order, I can always just assume I’ll figure it out in the second draft.
Well... from my deciphering of the county website, it would appear the jury has returned a verdict.
Guilty of Murder in the 1st degree.
