The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...
Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Very Brr! It's reading -5 right now.
To: SuziQ
I think it might get into double digits here today. It didn’t, yesterday.

FWIW, that thing said it was in the 20s when I posted it...
To: Corin Stormhands
I’d love it to be that warm. Or even 20s.

I’m a witness...when I first saw it it said 29. Definitely cool.

It was 26 when I posted it. 19 when I left the house this morning.
To: Corin Stormhands
It’s downright balmy here - upper 30s. But raining. And forecast to be that way for the foreseeable future.
So there’s that.

You're right, that is darn cold. It got down to 19 in Gulfport, on the MS Gulf Coast, last night, and it's 35 there right now. BRRRR. Thankfully, it only occasionally gets that cold in winter down there. It's not like that every day.
I'm looking forward to that!
To: Corin Stormhands
Ungh. Izzit time to go home yet?
To: Lil'freeper
All done planting your diabolical revenge time bombs fer your former employer?
To: Corin Stormhands
Ugh, no, but I keep running into her in the ladies bathroom. Yesterday I was chucking some paper in the recycle bin, which is in the hallway just outside the bathroom door. She steps out and was honestly startled (not to mention unhappy) to see me. She said, "Oh! You're still here." The tone of voice was everything. Very defensive and unpleasant.
I just smiled and said, "Yesssss I aaaam."
To: Lil'freeper
Izzit Friday yet? These two-day workweeks are murder!
To: Overtaxed
Yup. Too much to do. Too little time to do it. Can't be over fast enuf.
I'm going to get my hair done this evening. That'll be nice.

Prayer request time...
My stepdad is back in the hospital with MRSA. He’d had an infection in his leg before Christmas, but they thought it had cleared up and he had tested negative for MRSA. But it flared up again on Sunday and he’s been in the hospital since. He should come home tomorrow, but has an extensive treatment plan that involves IV meds daily for the next month.
This also delays his knee replacement surgery that was scheduled for the 14th. He’s a bit depressed over that.
Prayers appreciated. His first name is Cecil.
To: Corin Stormhands
That’s staph infection right?
Sure hope he gets to go home tomorrow and feels better soon.
To: HairOfTheDog
Yeah, that’s staph infection. They’ve apparently found it in his blood stream (I’m assuming that means it’s not just localized to the leg). It can be pretty serious and he’s considered to be highly contagious.
