This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Angus thanks you. All 225 lbs of himself have worked very hard. LOL
Thank you. Don’t tell Mr. Thunder. His head is already swollen enough. LOl
I have never seen anything like that. It’s beautiful.
Some people stopped (we have sign out) and took the last puppy. Yay! Now and try and find a home for the mother dog. Which will be a lot harder.
After I posted that question I Googled it and apparently a pogonip can be quite deadly as well. Seems the little ice needles in the air will damage your lungs too. Thankfully we don’t have those around here, and hopefully you won’t have any around there any time soon!
The Indians here in this area call the pogonip White Death. It is beautiful but deadly also.
I’ll be happy if y’all just keep that stuff out there.
Hello,
Quick run in to home...Mack is holding his own...we are still having trouble getting his electrolytes balanced, which is causing him to be rather out of it...his sodium and potassium are either too high or too low. I just didn’t realize how critical keeping all that stuff balanced was, and how hard it is to get back in balance once it’s out.
A chest exray of his heart yesterday showed that no more damage has occured since the last time they checked..
I think it is still going to be awhile before we are home.
It was very nice tho, scanning all the great pictures:)
I’ll check in again when I can.
Becky
Huh - I guess I didn’t realize how all that affects us either.
I sure have been thinking of you both... We miss you around here!
Awww.......thank you so much!! Yeah, we’re just kind of twiddling thumbs around here, waiting for the place to be “habitable”...........then the REAL work begins.....probably mid-Feb, or so.................
Hang in there! We’re thinking of you.
It’s beautiful in an awesome way.
It’s beautiful in an awesome way.
Praying for yall.
There was an article in the paper a week or so ago here about a family finding a lamb on their doorstep, and they lived in town. There's a farm here that is sort of a learning experience place and that's where the lamb now resides.
When I lived in Florida I had bantam chickens for a bit, and finally was down to this one little rooster. One day, a female peacock showed up. She had wandered over from a distant neighbors, and that poor little lonely rooster keep strutting around her. I'm sure he was thinking "What a woman!"
Too much woman... !
Reminds me a little of when our male lab got out and headed down to the house where a Great Dane was in heat... We found him circling her and trying to climb up from all kinds of different angles, and he just couldn’t ‘get there’ (luckily!). The poor boy was exhausted, but still didn’t want to be dragged home ;~)
Hey there Becky! I’d been wondering about how y’all were doing every day, so it’s good to hear from you! I’m glad to hear that his heart has stabilized. It’s just a matter of time now before they get him straightened out and back home. I know that living in a hospital tends to make people out-of-it just because all they’re seeing is the same 4 walls all the time. They’ve even got a medical term for it, but I can’t recall what it is. So I’m sure that getting him home will make him so much better. Just keep reminding yourself that it WILL happen. Hang in there, and remember that we’re all praying for you!
LOL!! That's hysterical! It kinda reminded me of the guy in this pic that somebody sent me in an email the other day...
He looks like's he's thinking "Where do I get on?!"
Thanks for checking in!
The boys need to get haircuts today so I’ll probably see Jenny if her shop is open.
