This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
The kids having been taking turns feeding the animals here...I haven’t seen the horses in a while...it’s always night when I’m here...Susie is a basket case having to stay home by herself at night...With the nicer weather I told the kids to prop the front door open so she could at least go out in the garden. Bink stays with her:)
I’m waiting on a load of laundry to take back for Mack tonight...
Becky
The food and water restriction was just for today, he can eat now again till midnight, but he wasn’t feeling well because he had to drink this quart bottle of barrium stuff before the CAT scan...I guess it made him feel really rotten, so he didn’t seem interested in the supper....maybe when I get back I can coax him into looking into the baskets:).
Becky
Thanks Duchess, you guys sure mean alot to me and have all helped:)
Becky
Well, I hope you’re holding up... I can’t imagine.
They might let you bring Susie in the room, you know. Particularly at night when it’s quiet. They let me bring Zulu in the hospital to visit mom... and they even asked if I’d take her to visit some of the kids down the hall.
Once again, thanks you all so much every one of you...
It’s been nice visiting a bit tonight...but I’ve got to run, I don’t like leaving him:)...some tech today, said I needed to get on the payroll there because I was doing their job...I told him, I just didn’t like other people jacking around with Mack:)...Jenny is there tonight, but I don’t like her traveling home late by herself... the kids have been great, taking turns coming to spell me.
Anyway, I have some phone #’s now in my purse so I’ll try to call tomorrow when everything is over to give a report to someone.
Becky
OK - Hang in there!
Uuuuuugh, that barium stuff is AWFUL! I’ve never had to drink any of it myself but everybody I’ve ever talked to that did said it was the nastiest tasting stuff, and very chalky. Plus they make you drink like a gallon of it. Heh, and he’ll be crapping Plaster of Paris for like a week. LOL! So hopefully that’ll be the worst of his problems. ;o)
Can’t watch from home (I’m on dial up) so I’ll check it out tomorrow from work.
That’s cute. I have admit though I was thinking “someone go get that crazy dog before he drowns” :’)
I’m sorry to hear that about Lori. Miracles do happen though. Continuing to pray.
Praying for Mack. Take care of yourself too.
Nurses love family members like you!
I just got in from work...I wished I coulda talked to you more today but had to run. I lost my reading glasses and had to swing by walmart on the way to work for a new pair or else work would've been really hard on my eyes!
HAHAHA!!!......so was I......I have absolutely no clue as to who's dog it is, but I DO know I have one at home here, who is just about as goofy. And mine operates about a foot off the ground at all times, all maneuvers.....hahahaa
Becky, it’s wonderful to hear from you. Don’t worry about keeping us up to date. As much as we want to hear from you, we also understand what you’re going thorough. Hang in there, and you’ll both be in our prayers.
Heh, and I can't watch it here at work so I'll have to watch it when I get home. Jeeeeeez, we just can't win!
Soozla, that’s a gorgeous horse there on your profile page. Is he/she yours?
Oh gosh, that poor man with a gall bladder in that condition. What a relief to have that procedure done. Tell him I said “Hello” and to get better real soon. You take care of yourself too.
How kind and thoughtful to send the baskets. I am sure it meant a lot to them.
Yes, T-bred gelding, now aged 7. I got him OTT, from his trainers at 3, poor guy. But by “ground driving” his butt off every day, for awhile, and riding out on the trails, he has come back to earth and is becoming a pretty good trail horse. Thank you very much!! And I’ll thank you on HIS behalf, too, but, he already knows it - haha................................
He’s now living in NC, patiently waiting for the “finishing touches” to be put on his new place, so when hubby and I get down there, we can have a few weeks of “I’m the herd boss/you’re the herd boss” type of tuning up. I haven’t been down in about a month to check progress, so it’s always fun. We should be moving down, late winter/early spring.
