This Dr should be relieved of all his organs immediately.
Perhaps we could make crackers out of em.

I had a friend years ago who believed that when you die and are buried, you had better have all of your organs. She thought you would need them in the afterlife.
As a Christian, I myself do not believe this type of doctrine. But, there are many people who do. And I believe it is up to their families to decide if organs should be DONATED or not.
Aren’t organ donor cards sufficient?

...Dr. Peter Lawler declared that the very idea that people own their organs was an "offense [to] dignity." Perhaps the good doctor would like to donate his immediately to lead the way..............

I don’t know what has happened with this. I remember at the time I was surprised that Dr Lawler would say such a thing. I have read a couple of his books and his statement on organ donation seemed out of sync with his other writings.

the big problem is when doctors are more interested in saving your organs (for $$$) than saving your life.

I don’t know who this Idiot of a doctor is.But I own my body and I can and will do with it what I want.
I always thought that was the law anyway because according to the abortion on demand supporters a woman's body was hers to do as she wished. No one else had a say whether she could get an abortion or not.

At last month's meeting of the President's Council on Bioethics, Dr. Peter Lawler declared that the very idea that people own their organs was an "offense [to] dignity."
Here's an article from shortly after the comment was made.

You will not even be able to die without some outrage being committed upon you. I can just see my boy if I die and somebody starts “harvesting”. I believe I’ll go for the Tony Soprano Mafia Discreet Burial Service, available by appointment, evenings from dusk to dawn with NO HARVESTING.

I am in favor of presumed consent only in cases where the individual is not wearing a seatbelt or a helmet, or in the case of a child not properly secured in a child safety seat or booster seat. Individuals driving in excess of posted speed limits, too fast for road conditions, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol should also be presumed to have consented to organ donation. Oh, and those in the country illegally.
Did I miss anyone?

Dr. Peter Lawler declared that the very idea that people own their organs was an "offense [to] dignity." Of course you own your own organs! If you don't then who does?
As for dignity -- it is an offense to dignity to suggest that your organs are NOT your own.

Can someone explain the organ donation process to me? I was under the impression that they didn’t wait until you were dead to start removing organs.

I agree with edcoil - the doctors should come first, then anyone else who believes in this.... They will KILL you for your organs.
Watch movie clip at: www.myfoxny.com - search using words - organ donation controversy. This young man was cut on 29 minutes before being pronounced dead! Note: he did NOT have strokes! Do you get the picture? This young man doesn’t have his freedom anymore because he doesn’t have his life anymore. And he doesn’t have his LIFE anymore because he lost his FREEDOM first.
